TIP TUESDAY - cake serving sizes - The two common sizes are coffee and dessert. A coffee or finger portion is 1 x 1” by the height of the cake (4” or so for me). It is common when the cake is in addition to dessert or your guests aren’t big cake eaters. The dessert portion is 1 x 2” (again by the height of the cake). As the name suggests this is used when serving the cake as dessert, or when you want a more substantial serving.
Which serving size you choose will have an impact on your finished cake size - one is twice the size of the other :)
There are plenty of cake serving size charts on the internet. They cover the different serving sizes and shapes. They can get confusing, I know they used to confuse me, so feel free to chat to your cake maker about what you need. They should be able to advise you xx
