A year ago today @hiketeer
and I walked up to this gate. It was the morning of the 3rd day on the trail. We already had quite a few memorable experiences... Standing on top of peaks, touching the Mexico border, drinking spring water from a bathtub in the Miller Peak Wilderness (yeah, not a typo), gazing off into sunsets, losing the trail in the dark on the first day and stumbling down a gulch littered with deadfall.
Oh, the memories! My heart yearns to be back on the trail, despite all its challenges and hardship.
Jordan and I didn't finish the Arizona Trail, but we still logged around 300 miles, had some incredible experiences and grew much closer. It leaves room to go back and give it another shot. Not now. But soon.
