Today I was reminded how important it is to respect your body🙌
In August, I was sidelined by a condition I have had since I was 12 or 13. There are a lot of factors to it but the long and short of it is that my inner thigh muscles are significantly weaker than outer muscles so much so that my knee caps track incorrectly over my meniscus. This has caused damage to the meniscus underneath and early signs of arthritis.
So! I began home therapy, discontinued sampling tanks at the refinery, and dialed back on high impact/ straining angles on my knees. By listening to my body and following the instructions of the physical therapist I was able to start this program January 15th without debilitating pain🙌
My knees have gotten SO MUCH STRONGER and during this INTENSE program. How? If it starts to hurt, I modify! I don't give up. REAL TALK : Giving up does not make you stronger.
I NEVER thought I would be able to do these things again. I had built it up in my head but today I went for it and it felt great 💪😃 If you are suffering from an injury, know that it will get better. Don't get discouraged 💛 You may not be as strong as you were before or have the same range of motion lol BUT you can come back from it.
