And like that, my 2018 CrossFit Open comes to a sputtering end. I may have accomplished my 18.5 goal, but I think I greatly overestimated my fitness level and was ultimately left disappointed by my performance. That being said, I could have just said screw it, I'm not doing it. I could be just another coach surfing potato. I could put other things as a higher importance than my fitness. After 40 some odd years I finally figured that I'm playing the long game and what I fail today only becomes a challenge later.
On a lighter note, the game ended up taking a page out of Planet Fitness' playbook. Donuts, Bundt cakes, beer, oh my!
