This is a question I get asked often.
Should I take Creatine?
Long story short, absolutely. If you have any hesitation you must be around my generation.
Back in the day it was recommended to do a "loading" phase and then a maintenance phase. ☆
This loading phase, come to find out, was unnecessary and could cause some issues.
Just like most things, there is a such thing as too much of a good thing.
Researchers didn't give up there, in fact, sports scientists knew the correct amount but the supplement industry as it often does has the thought of "well if "x" amount has benefits then "xxx" will have even more!
And since the supplement industry is relatively "self-regulated" that means there was no stopping it.
Reality is there have been hundreds of peer reviewed studies showing the safety and effectiveness of creatine - in the right amounts.
No loading phase is necessary and around 3g per serving is the ideal amount, 2-3 servings per day is perfectly fine.
Those of us who are a little older should go the 2-3 servings route, while 20 to early 30's would have sufficient reatime levels to do 1 or 2 servings a day.
So there you have it, yes, use creatine if you want. Many, many benefits and you'll see results quickly - even on the first workout!
