It’s farm week!! I can tell this will be a theme we revisit often. Declan loves animals and farm equipment, but my hope is to also teach him our food comes from farms too. Obviously in his little mind our food comes from the grocery store. 😊 I hope we can get out to one of the U-Pick farms for some fresh produce. 🍒🍓 So today we kicked off our farm theme with a story about Mrs. Wishy Washy and her farm animals. We followed up the story with a fun and messy pig painting. No matter what painting utensil I give him, he always reverts back to his hands anyway so this was perfect! 🖐🏻

Paper Towel Roll & Pom Pom Challenge 💡 ages 3+ 💡 This awesome game is so simple to make and tons of fun!
-Empty paper towel rolls
-A shallow cardboard container (we used the bottom of a file folder box)
Start by cutting the empty paper towel rolls into 1.5 inch sections. Once you have 10 pieces cut, arrange them randomly inside the cardboard container. Be sure to leave enough room so the pom pom can roll between the pieces. Then lift each piece and place a small drop of glue under it and replace it back in the same spot on the container. Allow the glue to dry for about an hour. Once the glue is dry, write the numbers 1-10 on top of the pieces in random order. Finally, place the pom pom in the container and the game can begin.
The object of the game is to get the pom pom to roll through all the numbered pieces in the correct order. For toddlers, they can practice rolling the pom pom around through the tunnels and identifying numbers.
This game is great for fine motor skills, balance, coordination, counting and number identification. #preschoolfun #homeschoolmom #finemotorskills

Plant a paper plate garden and pick up this heartwarming story that will have you celebrating the power of community, nature and faith. You know I’m a Peter Reynolds Super Fan and that’s because he has dedicated himself to sharing “stories that matter and stories that move.” This book is inspired by Rose Kennedy. It tells the story of a traveling young girl who plants the seeds she’s collected from around the world in the busy city she has moved to. When the garden refuses to grow she is greeted by children coming to share hand-crafted paper flowers and their story about journeying from all over the world. Rose demonstrates how perseverance and determination can help you achieve your greatest goals! 🌹💕 #rosesgarden
Finally getting round to sharing these cute DIY puppets for The Scarecrows Wedding by Julia Donaldson 😊 They’re on the blog at the moment and there’s a few little videos in my IG stories which I did while I was making them too!
I found some adorbs egg-decorating kits on Easter clearance at Target for 50 cents, so I got several of these, one of which I'll be keeping, of course. The cuteness of these ice cream cones, banana splits, cupcakes, and gumball machines is real. 💜 I also got a beach-themed kit for my sister. I'll be putting them up for a future Easter.

Cut and Build Ice Cream Cones ✂️🍦 Some awesome scissor skills practice here! 👉 I traced some small circles and cone shapes on different colors of construction paper (I traced our circle puzzle piece but a drinking glass would give you a perfect circle for this as well) for my little one to cut out, and use to build his own ice cream cones! 👌 Add glue and make this a fun craft to keep - and decorate your cones with some “sprinkles” when they’re finished! 🎉🍦👉Have you started scissor practice with your child? You can grab a children’s scissors (toddler or preschool options available), a pack of paper and scissor skills activity books in my Amazon shop - link in my bio ❤️#littleoneslearn

If there’s one thing I learned from this weeks Earth theme it’s that Declan loves being outside, exploring and getting dirty. 🌳🌾🍃
Here’s what we did to celebrate Earth Day this week:
•Earth balloon painting
•nature wind chime
Science Saturday.... Mixing ingredients to make a volcano. -water in cup
-mix in sunlight soap
-a good helping of bicarb
-stir all together
-add vinegar last
We did this over and over, as you can see, it's all fun and games until dad comes along and says it needs to spray bigger! Excuse the scream... #teachingkids #scienceforkids #athomecrafts #craftsforkids
