“Fear, you don't own me
There ain't no room in this story
And I ain't got time for you
Telling me what I'm not
Like you know me well guess what?
I know who I am
I know I'm strong
And I am free
Got my own identity
So fear, you will never be welcome here” -The Breakup Song, Franchesca Battistelli
What is fear holding you back from? We tend to keep those things close, feeling guilt for not doing them...or just thinking about them constantly. Afraid of failing, afraid of succeeding and having to keep going, afraid of the unknown.
Take the next step, don’t let fear own you.
Today I would like to thank my body for _____________.
Fill in the blank thankless bitchezzzzz! Just kidding. Love you guys. Let's show our bodies some love.
I'm going to have to thank my body for casually keeping me alive all day everyday without me having to think about it. 👌
Well, Javier left for L.A. yesterday afternoon for the week and the kids and I have been partying it up all day!
I’m catching up on #momlife
. Laundry and groceries might not be glamorous but it’s real life.
Chatting with a fellow momma this afternoon and listening to her story, I realized how easy it is for us to put ourselves in the back burner and get caught up in all things real life. Our stories are so similar it’s crazy! 😳
But when I asked her if she was ready to change things up she said couldn’t, that she was to busy.
We’re all busy. I’m 4 kids into this mom life thing and finding time for myself so that I’m actually working towards my goals IS hard but NOT impossible.
I think as moms, we need to stop using the word busy like a badge of honor and need to START making ourselves a priority in our own lives.
Im not saying I’m perfect I’m guilty of not making myself a priority too. It happens.
But what truly matters is in those moments, when you’re putting yourself on the back burner... that you realize what you’re doing and decide to make a change.
Believe me momma’s, living a life where you are not last on your own priority list is 💯 worth it! There will never be a perfect moment to start, your moment is NOW because you are stronger then you think!!! ❤️
[ABUNDANCE - part 2 of 2]
The most difficult part of change is in the commitment it takes to say yes. Because a Yes requires an energetic investment - and money is our current energy exchange placeholder.
Once you say Yes your entire being shifts toward that new reality - to support you on your journey. But saying yes is hard because 1) we have a fucked up relationship with money (especially female identifying folx); and 2) because your brain fears what comes after the yes so it tells you that YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY AFFORD THAT OMG.
Your brain - that Ego - doesn't want to invest because it can't fathom the transformations you'll undergo should you choose to get out of your lane. Unfamiliar territory feels like death to your ego. Like walking around a basement at night with the lights off - for all it knows there's a murderer lurking in every corner.
One of my clients manifested a pay raise two days into her new job so that she could join my program. Another is breathing directly into her birth right of abundance and finding creative ways to fund her enrollment - despite traveling and living on a budget - because she knows, in the seat of her being, that this evolution is meant to be.
Money excuses are your brain’s best attempt to keep you small. Just know that.
Let yourself exhale so that you can breathe in more next time. There's enough air here for all of us - and them some.
If you’re ready to ditch the excuses: send me a message. I see you.
Proud of my effort today! I went in to the big, scary weights section of the gym for the very first time by myself. I’ve always been so intimidated, but I’ve come to realize that everyone is just doing their own thing. My trainer gave me 6 weeks of workouts and today I conquered one. I’m probably going to be a little sore tomorrow. .
My run was 1 mile warm up 4.8-5.0, .5 at 5.5, 1 minute walk, .5 ranging from 5.5-5.8, a 1 minute walk, and another mile cool down at 4.8-5.0. It felt good to go faster, but my heart rate was high. I’m just really tired. My husband worked a couple of off hours shifts last week and then went out of town for 4 days. I’m so excited he’ll be back tonight. Hopefully I’ll finally get some good sleep! Anyone else not sleep well when their significant other is out of town or working odd hours?
Happy Monday! #nevermissamonday #strengthtraining #boymom #fitnessjourney #motherrunner #strongereveryday #progress #conquerfear #halfmarathontraining #consistencyiskey #thyroidectomy
I'm excited to share with you this week's podcast episode where I welcome Lauren Brooks, Founder of On The Edge Fitness and creator of Lauren's Playground.
Lauren is a wife and mom of 4, successful entrepreneur and Kettlebell Queen who’s living a spacious life in southern California and you must meet her!
Lauren shares with us that after repeatedly being told she was ‘too nice’ and 'not manly enough’ she decided to step away from the safety of the male-dominated organization that had taught her her craft to take a leap of faith and start her own thing where she’s been able to successfully build her brand her own way!Lauren shared with me that public speaking used to be her greatest fear, how she conquered that fear and how much that victory has empowered her in all she does!
She also shared her recent breakthroughs in vulnerability on social media as she is peeling off layers and revealing more of her humanness both as a woman and a mom and how she’s been able to slay a few demons from her youth by making the decision to stop taking things so personally.
We talk about the importance of community to our well-being and how Lauren is building her global community as well as inspiring neighbors to connect with each other.
Lastly, Lauren tells us how listening to a tugging at her soul led her to take a recent trip that both stretched and nourished her spiritually and has had a profound impact on her since she’s been back home.

✨ Day 1 v. Day 1 ✨
Starting this program is a new kind of feeling. For the first time, I felt PROUD taking my “before” pictures. Seriously, you should have seen me rocking my poses 🤦🏻♀️
But then, I didn’t know how to feel. I didn’t want to be happy. I didn’t want to post this picture. I was worried and all of the sudden felt like I needed to hide. I was afraid someone might think I am showing off or conceited. I was afraid someone might think “why does she think she looks good.” There are still so many ways to feel inadequate even when you feel good.
I hope to always use my journey to inspire someone...even just one person. So, if you are looking at this picture and reading this caption — know that I did not start here. I am SO proud of myself because I worked DAMN FREAKING HARD to get here. I know that anyone can do what I did and for that reason, I want to share this with everyone that needs it. Don’t look at this picture and compare your day 1 to my day 365. Look at me and say “if Meg can, so can I.”
TEN badass girls and I are starting this program today. I can’t wait to go through this journey together and see where we end up in 8 weeks ☺️
My goals for this program — continue to get stronger. Lean out my legs/ stomach (maybe even see a real ab...I’d honestly settle for ONE AB 😂)
Fear is a very negative weakening emotion. You can see people, organizations, communities, mass media, social media, corporations and governments causing fear all the time. More than 80% of the time it’s fear about something in the future which has not happened. Because it’s in the future. You have the greatest gift right now in your hand which is real: the PRESENT. When you have the now all to yourself why dwell in the future which doesn’t exist? You can change the course of future by being in the now. You can change your reaction. Now is all that exists. Conquer the fear so you can fully enjoy your present and change the course of future and thus the non-existent fear itself. ————————————

Are you taking some ME time today? If so, what are you doing?
The past 8 years have gone by so fast. I am so very grateful to be your momma! Happy Birthday Corby!!! 😍
Happy 8th Birthday Corbin!!! You are the boy who does everything with gusto, you listen to your own drum and laugh as hard as you can every opportunity you have.
You have brought so much joy, happiness and laughter into our lives. The past 8 years have been a whirlwind of fun and adventure. WE LOVE YOU!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
—SEA OF MONSTERS—
Two of my phobias in one photo: the depth and the sharks. I have learned that fear is only a state of the mind. It does not really exist. We create it ourselves. So we can also control it. All we have to do is take a deep breath, set our minds and dive in worry-free.
And here is me trying to look brave swimming with the fam [sharks] and failing. The water may look shallow, but I was just trying my best to keep my entire body close to the surface as possible.

It’s looking like a late night of decorating, but his 8th birthday only happens once! ❤️ Time goes by so fast it feels like I blinked and he’s now turning 8... I am beyond grateful to have the ability to stay home with them and make all the memories we possibly can because the next thing you know, I’ll blink and he’ll be 18, packing up for college and he won’t want birthday cakes to be made by his mom anymore... Hopefully he will, but in the meantime a late night decorating session is going down and I’ve got my pot of coffee with my name on it! 😀😉☕️
"Despite what you may believe, you can disappoint people and still be good enough. You can make mistakes and still be capable and talented. You can let people down and still be worthwhile and deserving of love. Everyone has disappointed someone they care about. Everyone messes up, lets people down, and makes mistakes. Not because we're inadequate or fundamentally inept, but because we're imperfect and fundamentally human. Expecting anything different is setting yourself up for failure." - Daniell Koepke
The weirdest thing about trying new stuff...while scary at first and probably still scary while doing it, the feeling of knowing you pushed past it, got out of your own way, and did it: absolutely exciting, makes you want to push more boundaries, and go after that feeling of ‘yes, I got this’ more often. Added bonus: having someone to share the journey with is even better. #conquerfear #parasailing #courage #portugal
