I was totally not the brand I wanted to be. I was almost 200lbs, out of shape and breath, and wearing my mother’s suit that was a size 13/14. I now wear a size 8.
Be willing to just GET STARTED. It doesn’t matter if you start now or next year you’re still going to “suck” a little bit. But SO WHAT! You used to suck at the job you’re on now that you have completely mastered (and you don’t even like the job). Clarity comes from action. When you move forward you can see things that you previously couldn’t see.
Niche your business as soon as possible. The sooner you hone in and focus on one topic and become known for that the sooner you will reap the financial benefits from your labor.

WELLNESS OVERWHELM • Has anyone else felt pressure around meditating, yoga, healthy eating and the wellness industry in general? When you think about it, it's pretty fucking overwhelming! Everyone has an opinion and some new or maybe not so new thing that is going to change your life and if you're not doing it, well you're not a very good wellness person, life coach, yogi etc. ⠀
What you initially did to feel good becomes a point of comparison and stress...⠀
It's as if there's a scary god above, waiting to strike you down if you eat one doughnut, watch Netflix or sleep in instead of working out. ⠀
A few months ago that's where I found myself. Every wellness practice - many of which have really changed my life and relationship with myself - became just another thing to do on my to do list. I felt so much stress around making sure my morning routine was perfect from the second I woke up, I agonised over every bite of food and compared myself to everyone around me. I felt overhwelmed by all the wellness practices I 'should' be doing and guilty for not implementing every single one. Despite doing all these things that were suppose to make me feel amazing, I just felt more and more like shit.⠀
So....I stopped everything! I stopped exercising, I stopped obsessing around healthy eating, I stopped meditating, I stopped saying the 3 things I'm grateful for, I stopped saying affirmations, I stopped doing yoga, I stopped waking up at 6am...the list goes on. ⠀
Instead, I just did what I wanted and felt so fucking free.
That happiness, self-love and confidence I had been trying to build through a million wellness practices came when I stopped caring about what I should be doing and just did what excited me. ⠀
Over time I've reintroduced balanced healthy eating, the gym, meditation and a morning routine because the thought of them genuinely excited me and this where I make every decision from now. ⠀
If you're feeling overhwelmed yourself then remember to take every tip with a pinch of salt and do what is right for you because when you listen to yourself that is when all the good feelings and stuff really happen.
3️⃣ Questions that you NEED to answer before being able to be happy with your body [Part 2/3].
The first was 1️⃣ What’s the point of being fit, if we can’t live our normal life?
Today, let’s dive into the second one. But if you don’t understand the first one then go back and read that so you can reap the benefits of this process:
2️⃣ What’s the point of living our normal life, if we are unhappy with who we are?
We can equate what’s normal to what’s comfortable.
There seems to be a considerable amount of discomfort that people go through in order to find happiness.
There’s always a struggle to make changes. Change is HARD.
So why would anyone want to change? Well, because they know they should for some reason.
The formally accepted 5 stages of change are as follows: Pre-contemplation (not knowing they should), Contemplation (realizing they should), Preparation (getting ready to), Action (changing), Maintenance (life with the changes).
When people are in the Contemplation phase, they are typically starting to experience some sort of discomfort or unhappiness, sometimes depression.
It’s our brains way of telling us that we need to change something.
Then we follow through by preparing to change because we know we can do better.
So when we really struggle to make changes, it’s because there is some sort of benefit from not changing.
So another way to phrase question 2️⃣ is: What is the benefit of staying the way you are?
There is a benefit. Find it and let it go. Then you are another step closer to locking into a routine that works for you and enjoying the fuck out of your body. But there’s just one final missing piece... tomorrow 3️⃣

I know from experience how much time and things can pass you by if you are always focused on the past or the future. It doesn’t always come naturally, I often have to make a conscious effort - but when I am present I notice such a huge shift in how I feel and the way I think.

Your confidence depends on you taking risks. You can strive for excellence but let's be clear, excellence is not waiting for perfection. It's also not refusing to show your other great skills because everyone knows you for "just one thing". You KNOW you have more to offer 🙄
Here's 3 ways to help you take risks/push yourself out into the light to shine:
1. Evaluate the type of risk you're taking. Creating new style of content, learning new methods, testing new marketing strategies are all good risks that help you grow from experience. Like makeup, if something doesn't look right or work, you can easily take it off & start over. Key words? Start over 👉🏽 not give up trying.
2. Understand the risk and it's potential impact on you before you try it. If you only have $100 to your name for the next two weeks, an ad spending all of it is a no for you dawg ***in my Randy Jackson voice*** There are pitching, collaboration & live marketing strategies that are less risky than having nothing to eat for weeks. You need to eat... FACT. Like everyday. Turning on a camera to go live, sending an email to previous or potential client for sales... not that serious. I know what it is to stretch a dolla until the eagle hollas. Why stretch when you can multiply
3. Test what feels like a major risk with taking a minor risk. Practicing going live will build clarity about how to do it better when you officially try it. Clarity builds confidence. Some of y'all think I just jump on camera and slay. Sometimes I do 😏 but not because I skipped practice. You're catching me 9 years into teaching on camera for a living. Don't compare... do it. Once you did it, you're still not done. Measure the results & shift in your confidence after the experiment. Then prep to do it all again until you master where you didn't do well at your last step. It's like magic.

Yesterday was a shitty day.
Nothing terrible happened, I was just in a bad mood and a funk that I couldn’t shake.
Sometimes we need to let ourselves have bad days. Feel all the feelings that are coming up while maintaining the certainty that tomorrow will be better.
Do you feel confidently appropriate to life? Or do you feel like you are playing a role and showing up for society, but you feel unworthy to show up for yourself when you are away from the public eye?
The thing is, nobody wants to admit they have low self-esteem and self-confidence. .
In fact, could that be the first question that pops into your head right now? ”How do I know I have low self-esteem?” .
I mean, maybe you act with confidence in social circumstances, always surrounded by people, exuding strength to the outside world, but how do you feel inside? .
Maybe you find it easy to talk to strangers. You might even come across as arrogant in some situations. But what goes on inside of you?
Could it be that your need of always being surrounded by people and getting all the attention in the room is actually your insecurity, your attempt at validation? .
Could it be that your so-perceived arrogance is actually a wall that you put up in order to avoid being hurt, in order for you to hide all your fears? .
Could it be that you play a game of pretending that you are this amazing popular person, when in fact you go home and cry yourself to sleep or blame yourself when looking in the mirror?

A Dove Global Survey found that 6 out of 10 girls stop doing something they love or that will benefit them because they feel bad about the way they look, and of course if we haven’t addressed this behaviour early on, it will most likely continue into adulthood and hold us back from chasing opportunities and meeting new people.
Constant bombardment of social media images of so-called ‘perfect’ bodies plays a huge part in knocking our confidence when it comes to how we look. We’re constantly fed messages that big lips and big bums are now ‘in fashion.’ What are we going to do when the media suddenly tells us that it’s now ‘in’ to have smaller lips and a small bum- suddenly stop squatting and run every day instead?! Having a positive image is about learning to love what you have, even if it doesn’t meet the beauty standards that are constantly thrown our way, and if there are aspects of yourself that you’d like to improve on, doing it in a way that’s healthy for you.
