It’s Fridaayyyy which means it’s #THEDIYBRIDE
post day, also it’s the weekend, yaay! As promised, today I’ll show you how we decorated the pews and aisle at the church for our wedding. To begin with I had so many different ideas for the pews but due to time constraints we ended up going for something simple and quickly available. So eventually, we fixed on coral #peonies
for the pews.
To be honest I didn’t move a finger with this part of the decor, it was all my mom and sister. Also, I never have the patience to make flowers, and my mom on the other hand has lots of it so obviously the choice was easy. 😬
We(I cut a few pieces if that even counts😂)made flowers from crepe paper.
Since links don’t work in Instagram posts I’m just going to give you the names of the products I used and you can look them up. For the flowers I used crepe papers from #liagriffith
you can find them in many stores including #walmart
. They have a wide range of colors to choose from and they’re all very gorgeous. The difference in this brand from the regular crepe paper you commonly find is that this is really stretchable which makes it easy to mould to desired shape.
We also followed a Lia Griffith tutorial to make the peonies, added a few roses and some faux leaves to complete the look.
Here is the blog post I followed https://liagriffith.com/diy-crepe-paper-peonies/
I’m sure you’ll also find videos that walk you through the process.
The handmade flowers were then attached to a #chiffon
fabric which was cut and stitched with respect to the height of the pew, this was all done by my amazing mother, we used a ribbon to tie the fabric to the pew and secured the flowers to the fabric using a craft string.
For the aisle itself I bought an off-white aisle runner off #theweddingfleamarket
, we then ordered faux silk rose petals, I think we used #amazon
for this but I really can’t remember for sure. We spread the rose petals all over the aisle runner and voila we were done with the church aisle decoration! (Sounds so much easier now) 😂
