I'm sorry, but this is tough, really tough. When family asked where I'd like to visit one of the first places out of my mouth was Penang Butterfly Farm, Yeah!!! So, it's changed... it changed a lot. It's Entopia now and it isn't the same. Entopia by Penang Butterfly Farm was a mixed bag for me. The good... Entopia has become highly educational. Sometimes way, way to cutesy, but I give 'em credit for tryin'. They have way more animals now other than lepidopteran, some cool stuff. They had a nice variety last time, but it's been expanded. It has a real theme park feel and you're tracked start to finish. Again they are really working the education angle. There are some mistakes, but I'd give still 'em an A+. (I'm picky, okay, but here's one example. They have a world distribution map. So, I'm looking at South Carolina and see a huge error, well, it is if ya grew up and live here. Columbia and the Blue Ridge Mountains are (way) incorrectly placed. Yeah, I'm being picky, but it's just really wrong.) The butterflies didn't like me. Seriously, they didn't seem happy and their wings were battered. Could it be too much "concrete/stone work" (there's a lot) eatin' up their wings or something else. Is the space so big now that the population density has decreased??? Did I say they didn't like me? Boy howdy they did last time!!! Entopia lacks the intimacy between the butterflies and people that Penang Butterfly Farm had. It made me sad. They loved posing for me last time.
