My keto protein donuts took the win yesterday in my poll so here's the recipe!
Ingredients for batter:
-3/4 cup almond flour
-1/4 cup vanilla whey protein (about 2 scoops)
-2 tsp stevia
-2 tsp baking powder
-1 tsp cinnamon
-1 pinch Himalayan pink salt
-1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
-1/4 unsweetened vanilla almond milk
-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Ingredients for coating:
-3 tsp stevia
-1 tsp cinnamon
-2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
-preheat oven to 350 degrees
-spray donut pan with nonstick cooking spray
-in a bowl, mix almond flour, protein powder, stevia, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder
-in a separate bowl, mix melted butter, almond milk, eggs, vanilla extract, then mix into the dry ingredients
-fill each spot in pan about 3/4 of the way with the batter and put in oven for about 22-25 minutes or until golden brown
-for the coating, mix together stevia and cinnamon in a bowl
-after donuts are golden brown and out of the oven, let cool for about 5 minutes
-once cooled, brush on/dip the top of the donuts in the melted butter and coat with the cinnamon mixture
Serving size: 1 donut
Cause I'm getting towards the end of my prep and I'm keeping carbs low, my cravings have been acting up lately, so I've been looking for different recipes to help satisfy them 😅 I found some donut recipes, but altered them so it had more protein and had better macros 🙏 these taste amazing and will definitely help you if you love donuts

28g carbs of sugar just 1.9g, Fat 8.2g of which sats 4.9, Fibre 7g, salt low at just 0.33g. It was the chocolate flavour variant that I enjoyed or devoured in this instance, it comes in 2x 38g bite sized pieces, they are so very soft with a whipped fluffy centre coated in a very good helping of quality chocolate.

“Zach, I hit my Macros but not my Calories!? What gives!? Am I doing this wrong!?”
This Question is soooo common for people in there first couple weeks of tracking macros. It's honestly a great question!
✅ It is true that when you hit your Macros you also hit your Calories!
❌ The FDA has this thing called the "Calorie Rounding Table" which allow companies to round the calories to the nearest pretty number! Hence why you never see food labels with an ugly calorie total of 153 or something like that! It's always 150 or something pretty like that.
🚫 The rule states that the food label can be round to:
*️⃣ Nearest 5 Cals if under 50 Cals
*️⃣ Nearest 10 Cals if over 50 Cals
🙅 So the equation above is a perfect example of this!
🥜 5g Fat X 9 Cals/g = 45 Cals
🍌 17g Carbs X 4 Cals/g = 68 Cals
🍗 10g Protein X 4 Cals/g = 40 Cals
✏️ 45 + 68 + 40 = 153 Calories
🚫 But the food label says 150 Calories!
✳️ So what is my point!? If you hit your Macros in MyFitnessPal, you will hit your calories. Do not worry about what your macro tracking app is telling you because it is going to be off!
🛑 And if you are only tracking your calories, you are more than likely taking in more calories than you think because of these companies rounding down the calories!
❌ And that could be said too with the subtraction of fiber and sugar alcohol calories too! This is super common on most protein bars that use a lot of fiber and sugar alcohol to drive down the calorie count! I covered that topic in a YouTube video and podcast so make sure to check out that episode!

❌ Not Just Your Calories
