Today was the last day of my recovery week. I needed a 2400 yd swim and 10 mile run. I also needed to pack my whole apartment as I’m moving in the next 10 days or so depending when I can sync up elevator reservations at my outgoing and incoming buildings. Moving in/out of big apartment buildings is always a pain in the ass. I spent most of the morning and early afternoon packing my apartment with the help of my amazing gf. Then we went to grab a quick bite/drink on the beach. I knew there would be no time to do both exercises today so I had to pick one. I picked the run because it’s harder to me and the discipline I’m the worst at. Surprisingly my gf who hates running said she wanted to come with me today to see how far she could go. She never runs distance but is a strong sprinter. I figured she’d go 1-2 miles before turning around (making her total run 2-4 miles). Instead she stayed with me the entire way! I was so impressed. It took me months to build up to 9 miles when I first started running and here she is just deciding to do 9 miles on a whim. (We ended up doing 9 instead of 10 because we got started super late and still needed to get some chores done when we got home. Probably should have run 7/8 because shaving one mile didn’t save that much time). Anyway, boy do I feel pathetic for any whining I’ve ever done about a run being too hard 😂😂. She powered through despite feeling pretty beat at around the 6 mile mark. The weather was hot tonight 80 def Plus 84% humidity but thank God for a light breeze at times that made it more bearable. I’ll give myself a check mark for the rune even tho it was short. Next week is the beginning of a three week building phase. Not to mention the mounds of work piling up on my desk. Schedule’s about to get real tight.
Day 7/Week 12 of my 20 Week Plan:

One buzzword we keep hearing is innovation. Innovation is implementing new ideas to create value, the key word being "new". To be truly innovative and to really create the “next big thing”, you can’t be working to create the same thing everyone else is. While innovation can happen when you are least expecting it, it inevitably happens to those who are looking for it. Today’s world is competitive and most successful brands have established strong brand loyalty in their customers. Customers aren’t looking for an improved version of something that already exists, they are looking for new solutions to their problems, for groundbreaking ideas that will add value to their life. These groundbreaking ideas aren’t going to be the ones everyone has thought of, they are going to be the out-of-the-box ideas that solve a problem when everyone else is looking at it from a different perspective. If you want to come up with the next big thing, look at the problems your customers are facing, look at how others have tried to solve that problem, and then find a completely new approach to solving that problem. Tell me – what do you think the next big thing is and where are you looking for it? 👊 #getunstoppable
The other day I really challenged myself to be extra happy and patient with my kids for the whole day. The usual things happened throughout the day that I probably would’ve shown my frustration more but I kept my cool and calmly talked to them. In the evening my 6 year old son said to me, “I love happy Mom!”. I loved that he noticed that I had made more effort in being happy and positive that day. Now that I realize how much they notice I try everyday to be happier. Can you imagine how much better our relationships would be if we put effort in the right places? Give it a try! #amazingtoknow#happymom#behappy#challengeyourself#strong#beyourbestself#motivation
Y3 T1 W5 Part 2 || ⌛️
Following on from my previous post, see if you can spot the ‘table piece’ adaptation... but without the table. Creating this piece took some time, and there was definitely more we could work on, however I was really proud of this one; it was multilayered, considered and we worked hard. Our marks showed great results too. The chore was formed through retrograde and adaptation, and really stretched me as a dancer.
35 miles of pouring rain mixed with periods of blazing sun, grueling hill climbs, scary descents, sloppy mud, creek crossings and delicious snacks at the aid stations in just under 14 hours. Thank you @combustion_junkie for getting up at 4:30am to drop us off and for being there at the finish!

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5
Fantasy is not my go-to and I probably wouldn’t have thought twice about this book had I not won it in a giveaway but let me tell you my friends, I was pleasantly surprised by this YA novel. I’ve been trying to challenge myself to read books outside my normal go-to genres and I’m soooooo glad I forced myself to give this one a shot. Within a few pages I was hooked. The story starts out at a decent pace and only gets more enticing from there. There are 4 main characters, each with completely different personalities and objectives yet I found myself rooting for each of them in different ways. There is just enough going on within this fantasy that I felt engulfed in the story versus lost in a fictitious world. Fun, swift, and easy to follow- this story kept me on my toes up until the end when I was left wanting more. Fortunately for me and all of the other COBAB fans out there, this is first in the trilogy with the second and third books coming out in 2019 and 2020. If you’re looking for an easy to read page-turner then I would highly recommend giving this gem a try. 🔮🦄💜

Founder & Owner of Unit 27 Group, Rob Hallam, presents a cheque for £4,000 to Derby (Uk) based Leigh Timmis in support of his Cross Europe Guinness World Speed Cycle Record attempt in Sept ‘18. This donation will provide the means for his entire team, who are all dedicated volunteers, to finalise operational and planning essentials.
Unit-27®, and it’s specialist partners, are all at Leigh’s disposal during this critical point in his final phase in preparation.
Rob commented: “From the moment we met Leigh it was obvious that his high level of experience, passion, and commitment towards the challenge at hand was beyond question. He personifies the qualities we look for in an athlete and are therefore very proud to welcome him to our Sponsored Professional Athlete programme. We look forward to seeing him succeed in the challenge itself, and in his continuation of the long standing work he does towards raising the profile of Mental Health Awareness, an extremely important issue that is very close to all our hearts”.

Do you ever stop to ask yourself who am I? 🤔
When you go from working so hard at making your dreams come true to becoming a stay at home mom its easy to become lost 😔
At least that is how I felt. I worked so hard in school to get my master's degree that when I decided to a stay at home mom last year I struggled finding who I was outside of being a mom. I felt like I had drive or motivation anymore 😭.
Postpartum depression hit me HARD. I secluded myself from others. I treated my husband poorly. I was not taking care of myself properly. I had no idea what my purpose was or what I wanted to do with my life anymore.
What I did know was that I didn't want to miss out on watching my son grow up and making new memories with him each day. I knew that I was NOT just a mother though.
Once I started taking care of myself on ALL levels I got back to a place where I was ready to help inspire others to take back control of their own lives.
I have found my passion. Coaching does not only help me provide for my family but it gives me a PURPOSE. It pulled me out of my depression. Helping other women to love themselves completely & make themselves a PRIORITY so they can be the best version of themselves brings me such joy. Helping others helps hold me accountable so that I can be the best wife and mother as well.
I may have started out doing this just for the discount and to earn a little extra 💵 but it has completely changed my life now. I now feel like I have FINNALY found my purpose in life 🙌.
You create your reality! So if your feeling stuck, lost, unhappy at all do something about it!! Comment below or message me if you would like to see how coaching can change your life too! #purpose#passion#stayathomemom#slay#postpartumdepression

Our twins are.... BOYS💙💙!!! We let the kids shoot the boxes 📦 because they wanted to! We are so excited to be adding two more boys to our family!! I may need all the good vibes though! Haha 2 boys might be a handful!!!
My cousin showed me this picture last week and I was in total shock I allowed myself to get that heavy. I think I was at my heaviest. Pictures like this makes you wanna push harder. I will never go back to her. I will stick my chest out and face my good days and bad days. This fitness journey is more mental than physical. You have to really want it. You have to have that drive in you and most importantly you have to trust GOD. I promise you he carries me on this journey and through him he gives me the strength to push through. He give me strength when I just don't have it in me. Thank you Jesus because I know you are my number #1 supporter. So to let y'all know I'm not a entree no more I'm a whole snack. 😋😋😋 #tbt#fitness#beforeandafter#fitness#fitnesschick#weightlost#womenlift#liftheavy#slimthickchick#weightlostjourney#pushthroughcorine#challengeyourself#blackwomenworkout
