finally got that follow up microbiome post up! did you know that what type of birth you have, and if you breastfeed or give formula all have an impact on your baby’s long term health? link you know where👆🏼
Happy first day of Summer 🌞
I completed the first phase of my program earlier this week and when I compared my progress pictures side by side I knew I had to share them!
When I started this program 4 weeks ago, I couldn’t do one push up and I felt defeated during the ab/core exercises. But you know what? I showed up anyway! I attempted each exercise and kept ending up on my knees or just holding a plank position because I knew even these little efforts would pay off in a big way! If you follow my IG stories, you’ve watched me get stronger each week and crank out more reps than the week before. By the end of phase 1, I was able to do at least a couple of each ab exercise using the sliders and 5 push ups before hitting my knees!
I know I’m nowhere close to where I want to be, but it’s a darn good start and I’m definitely stronger now than I was 4 weeks ago.
I’m going to keep pushing play everyday and working this program through phase 2, then Shane and I are going to start a NEW program that we have early VIP access to!
If you have any interest in joining us, drop a comment below or send me a DM! Stop holding yourself back from being your BEST self! All you have to do is commit to improving your life and we will provide you with all the accountability and support you need!

DEEP BREATHS👈🏼 those are for me. (& the last pre-launch ✨Yoga Retreat ✨update )
I’ve had “hosting a yoga retreat” on my vision board for years. Literally years. But that meant following my dream enough to book a retreat house, hire a chef...actually speak it into the universe.
My mom introduced me to an astrologer a few years before she died. And one of the very first things she told me was that I have an immense ability to create community, to bring people together. That, THAT was my power. It sounds so great from the lips of others but stepping into the role took time, growth, loss, beauty, discovery and courage.
I’ve been a yoga teacher for nearly 10 years now and year after year I’ve said “someday” to my yoga retreat dream. It’s easy to boil ourselves down to a few simple thoughts. But we are so much more than that. In my head I’m just the freckle faced, big footed girl from the south with imperfect skin, woo woo tendencies & who may even sometimes doubt her ability to lead and inspire others to find themselves on the mat. Like I did.
I want us to go do the yoga, meditate, relax, get zen, enjoy, create & cultivate new friendships, drink amazing wine, eat Chef prepared meals, soak up the sun on the beach....but I want us to do more than that, I want us to go IN. To unlearn what’s untrue about ourselves. To come away as a growing version of the stories we’ve told ourselves. No longer boiled down. Overflowing.
If I don’t say so myself....this retreat will be simply amazing. It won’t be perfect. Just like me. Just like you. Just like all the little moments in between the big moments. Perfectly imperfect. And I hope you’ll be there. All levels of yogi welcome, from beginner to established practitioner, it is yoga for everyBODY.
Booking will go LIVE tonight at 7pm.
Have you heard of a Blessing Way? It's a perfect ceremony to celebrate and honor the mother and baby before birth. Imagine a fun mix of friends and family(usually all female), good food, music, prayers or blessings, and the powerful energy from all the mother's before you that have done the incredible work it takes to bring life into the world, all together in one space. They've all gathered to show respect and support to the mother. What a way to build her confidence in herself for labor and birth!
One great activity is henna(a non permanent ink) designs on the mother's belly and hands. Others can also choose to have it on their hands as a form of solidarity with mom. It's also really pretty and stays on usually long enough to make for some awesome pics on Instagram!
I found Gayatri of @artistic_henna_by_gayatri
, a henna artist in the Raleigh, NC area, who does some incredible work and has all great reviews from her clients. Consider featuring a henna artist at your blessing way to incorporate more beauty into your journey to motherhood.
Did you host or attend a Blessing Way? Comment below with your experiences and your fav activity of the event. Even better, tag me in a pic of your henna work! I'd love to see it! 😍

A little something funny for this morning. We all need a laugh.
Did you know that human babies actually put in a lot of work to make their way down the birth canal, under the pubic bone, and into mom's arms? When allowed to naturally descend, baby rotates around kind of like a cork screw to move down and out.
Typically, the shoulders are the same width as the head to allow a smooth descension and uncomplicated exit. When a mother is given the freedom to move around, push on her own count, and with the intensity her body tells her is necessary, labor resembles a dance between her & baby.
Staying active and healthy during pregnancy, working on getting baby in a Left Occipital Anterior (LOA) position, and opting for an unmediated birth are just a few ways a mother can give herself the best chance at experiencing this dance into motherhood. 💜

P.S. Check out @spinningbabies
for more on ways to prepare your body for a healthy labor and birth. Remember the Miles Circuit for when labor stalls due to a wonky positioned baby. Oh, and get yourself a doula so you don't have to try to remember this all during actual labor! 😁

During my pregnancy I was so exhausted, during a twin pregnancy your symptoms are two times worst than a singleton pregnancy. I was seriously like so tired all the time but I kept telling myself like “Sera your not going to let yourself go, you need to maintain yourself and a healthy diet”. I had heard so many things about it’s hard to have twins because there’s this thing called the vanishing twin syndrome where the other twin takes all the food and everything so the other dies or just a lot of stories how one twin always doesn’t make it. So the duration of my pregnancy, I started creating meal plans and a stable workout plan. I didn’t use any supplements like Herbalife, whey or protein shakes. I ate straight clean and lean foods. And worked out 7 days a week. I kept my babies in 2 weeks (38 weeks) before I turned exactly 9months (40weeks) so I kept them in longer than the majority of the average twin birth (22 weeks). After my healthy babies were born I still stuck to my health plan even though I have a depression disorder, I still maintain my fitness and it looks easy and all but I can not have done all this work for no credit. I will always flaunt my body not because the stereotypical things people say because “she wants likes, she wants attention, “ etc. But because it’s shows my progress and the hard work and sweat I put into it. #strongmother #healthy #fitmoms #boygirltwins #fraternaltwins #twins #cesarian #csection
Bennett’s two month picture! We cannot believe how much he has grown in just one month. What we learned about him this past month: he has really good days when he poops in the morning, he wakes up in the BEST mood—all smiles, he doesn’t mind tummy time at all, and he is going to be best pals with Clark. Also, his hair might have a little red in it, but don’t tell Shane that 😉
When I need to undergo with the CS section because my baby is not making any movement inside my tummy tho she has a heartbeat but no movement at all, I breakdown and cry a lot but thank God he gave me a supportive family and My faith and trust is in you my GOD.
Thank you God because you also gave me an amazing OB Dr. Ditas, She immediately scheduled me for CS due to 2/8 BPS, until we found out that my baby is not making any movement because of cord coil.
When I heard her first cry and sees her movement, My HEART WANTS TO JUMP! THANK YOY GOD! All the pain is worth it! ASHRIELL AAMARIS "storm" MANEGO! ILOVEYOU, YOU COMPLETE ME!

What “type of mama” hires a Doula?
When I decided to enter the birth world as a birth Doula I received exactly zero surprised responses...for those that know me know that I’m a little bit woo woo and a lot a bit crunchy granola Mom who gets all kinds of jazzed about the power of birth. So I think that’s the common misconception that comes along with “being the kind of mom” that hires a Doula. Side bar- I’ve always thought it strange that we self label & label others in regards to parenting styles....when I’m pretty sure we all fall under the “ just trying not to screw this up” category. #amirightoramiright
So I thought I’d lay out the “kind of mom” that would want a Birth Doula.
She wants a:
Birthing Center Birth
Has no clue yet
Doesn’t want the epidural
Has no clue yet
A supportive partner
A nervous/unsure partner
Has no clue yet
A vaginal birth
Wants to tune into her power to get her baby earthside.
So, let’s Doula this. #mmkkkaaayy
On this day five years ago life gave me a second chance. I’m so grateful to be alive and have the family I have.
It’s always bitter sweet when those memories come back to me. But I have definitely learned that I’m stronger than I ever imagined.
I’ll forever be grateful for those that were there for me in my life’s darkest moment. You know who you are & just want to say how much I love and appreciate you! 🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️

11th June 2012 and at 17:45 England had just finished their first half of their first game of their Euros finals.
After being in labour for 3 days I was expecting to be watching the game in recovery at Crowborough birthing centre. But that's not the was childbirth works and instead as they kicked off at 17:00 exactly I was rushed in to an emergency cesarian.
Luckily the surgery team had a sense of humour and kept us updated through the match even half way through the procedure when Lescott scored. At 17 mins in to the match my beautiful girl was born
And that was the end of the tournament for me, as with a new born I basically slept through every other match....... Well now my gorgeous big girl turns 6 today, and i wjll be watching a lot more of the wordl cup this time round!!!!!! Happy birthday to the most wonderful, funny kind daughter that i could have imagined...... xxxx

This sweet little man and I have much enjoyed our solo weekend together and the start of my days working from home rather than outside it. In anticipation of his 2nd birthday, I will (finally)be writing his birth story this week. The more he grows and changes, the more I appreciate the true miracle of life AND of modern medicine. Stay tuned and get your Kleenex ready, folks! 🤧

To those who wear the scar❤️ It is courage, bravery and sacrifice. Mothering in it’s purest form. To lay down your body and risk your life for a life. 300,000 women die every year in an attempt to give birth #csectionstrong #cesarian #nolessamother
I love that i am scar buddies with my little Rhett. #heartbabies
Yes I was using my sons toys for targets when doing the barrier squat exercise ✌😅 not at all distracting with a baby who loves attention. This exercise felt awesome especially for me who needs to get back to those coordination skills I had before my pregnancy 😀
Women are strong in all birth settings. It doesn't matter if it's at home, a birth center, a hospital room, or an operating room. The strength it takes to surrender to your baby and to your body is enormous. Even in the most vulnerable moments, the strength is there. Having a Doula available to handle all the other work will make your process smoother, more enjoyable, and get you as close to your best birth as possible. That looks very different to every mother. As your Doula, it's my responsibility to learn what that looks like for you and draw on my skills, experience, and instinct to help put the puzzle pieces together for you. Birth is sacred, let's work together to keep it that way. If you are in search of your Doula or know someone who is, PM or call me. Let's start the conversation that will lead to your best possible outcome. 💞

I’ve been reading a lot of Ina May Gaskin lately, if you’re not familiar with her and her work look her up! She did some pretty amazing things to help raise awareness and confidence in women surrounding birth. To paraphrase one of my favorite quotes from her....we are the only species that can doubt our capacity to give birth. Mind blown right?
While I’m new to the #birthdoula
profession I’ve attended many births and I’ve been obsessed with birth since the births of my children . My first birth was full of fear and my second was full of confidence. All the components were the same....my body & ability, both in birthing centers, both with midwives, both unmedicated, both supported...it was my mindset that was completely different. And that made ALL the difference.
It never fails, if you put a bunch of women in a room together they WILL talk about birth. And sometimes they are more like war stories.... and I hope to help change that. Because labor and birth can be the single most peaceful and empowering moment of our lives....if we just stop going to war with our bodies and trust it’s natural ability. ⚡️
Humble. Very humble.
Coach said that I should try to make my "scorpion-to-crab-reach" more elegant... I don't know what he means? 🙃😂 jokes aside.
Summary of the first workout: Hard, sweaty and both as I expected and not. I was stronger in my upper body than what I thought, but weaker in my core.
But hey, what fun would it be without some space for development. This is going to be a lot of fun 😀
My name is Amber and I'm a birth Doula. I offer support, education, love, and strength to women and their families. I advocate for the mother to her birth team at home, in a birth center, or at a hospital. I take pictures, wipe brows, hold throw up bowls, feed, hydrate, and offer a shoulder to cry on. During my time with my client I'm not the Queen Bee. SHE is the Queen Bee. SHE is the one that is served, not me. I'm the Queen in my world when it's about me. During a birth, SHE is the one that is nurtured and fought for. Real queens fix each other's crowns. 👑

15 years ago, I didn't buy a swimsuit and spent my summer in oversized t-shirts. I was never super skinny, but I was slimmer then now. This summer, I can't wait to buy a new swimsuit. What changed? My perspective. You can't hate your body when you look after it, keep active and fuel it right. I am on a journey. Join me for my June bootcamp group. Not because you hate your body, but because you love yourself! #junebootcamp #loveyourself #swimsuitseason
