My cup of tea today for break time was a granola bar made with sweet maple oats, Brazilian nuts that includes; almonds, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, flaxseed and sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and raisons. I love to enjoy on snacking inbetween my work sessions in the sun. . . This bar is 100 calories it is full of super foods; which are beneficially anticancer causing foods. Lentil Salsa Tacos with Cauliflower Thins as my tortillas 😋🌮🌮🌮 . . Celebrating Meatless Wednesday as today is like my Monday as I am now back home from being in Palm Springs for a mini-vacation. My fridge is a little bare but I had these steamed lentils from @traderjoes that I mixed with some leftover corn salsa I got at a Mexican restaurant last night 😃 and placed my mix in 3 cheesy cauliflower thins from @wholefoods that were still good from last week 🙌 (I posted a Mediterranean Lentil Taco recipe if you haven’t seen it you should maybe check it out 😜) . . These @outeraislegourmet cauliflower thins are SO good but SO pricey 😭 it was like $5 for a pack of 6. Worth a splurge every now and then but couldn’t imagine to have them weekly lol . . Don’t mind my sad looking serving of veggies next to my tacos (I needed to get in some more veggies after vacation food 🤗) but at least I topped them with TJs Red Pepper spread with Eggplant & Garlic to give them some more flavor 😋👌 . . CARBS — 🍎🍓🍇🍌🍠🥔🍞🥦🍚🍛🥗 Carbs are still perceived as the enemy 😈. Lately the fad is to do “high-fat” & low carbs diets. # NOTE: 📋 • 1 gram of carbs 🍚 = 4 calories • 1 gram of fats🥜 = 9 calories # Remember that carbs are our bodies main source of energy 🔋🔋. The problem with most people is that your decision making is not the greatest when selecting your weekly carbs as part of your meals. Of course, if all you’re eating is pastries 🥧🍰, cookies 🍪, candy 🍭 🍬🍫, and soda 🥤 ( or other high calorie drinks )as your choices for carbs then you’re definitely going to have a hard time staying in a CALORIC DEFICIT & getting lean. A lot of the foods I mentioned are high on fats & carbs. Mistakenly, everyone things they are just carbs. Such foods are so easy to over eat, plus most people under estimate how much calories they intake ( even when they’re making “healthy” choices). ———————————————————————- Do your best to select foods on the infographic above 👆🏽, these are my personal favorite; but there’s many more options you can choose from. If you’re mainly eating fruits 🍉 & vegetables 🌽 as your carb sources and more caloric dense carbs ( starches/grains) like rice/beans and bread for more active individuals ( or if you track your macros 📲) then you’ll be just fine. Portion control is also important. These 👆🏽nutrient dense choices are high in fiber, vitamins/minerals and will keep you fuller longer. ———————————————————————- It doesn’t mean you can’t have a cookie or some fries 🍟 in moderation, but 80-90% of the time you should focus on nutrient dense selections ( whole foods that come from the earth 🌏) . # If you’re on a plan that doesn’t allow you to eat fruits 🍎 ( some of the healthiest foods you can eat ) and you’re limited to only fish/chicken 🐠🐔and broccoli 🥦 every meal. Well, you better run away fast 🏃🏽‍♀️💨. Chicken and fish are great but there’s nothing wrong with having more variety and wide array of options in order to have sustainability with your plan 📒. The best diet is the one you can stick to long-term. Fat loss happens over months/years , therefore you have to enjoy your way of eating so you can continue doing it long-term! 👍🏼

❤ Banana and oat blender pancakes ❤❤❤❤ I love making these because they're super healthy and taste amazing. They're also crazy easy and quick to whip up. Naturally sweetened with Banana, vanilla extract and honey you don't need to go overboard on the toppings. Here I've used a banana, fresh raspberries and a drizzle of maple syrup. I rained down on these bad boys with some chia seeds, coz that's how I roll...at least for today anyway 😎😉 These are great pre/post workout meal option. The oats and banana give you slow release energy and the egg and almond milk sorts out the protein and good fats!💯✔🙌 ---------------------------------------------------- ✔2 cups Rolled oats. ✔1 Large banana. ✔1 egg. ✔1-1/4 cup Almond milk (I used 1 depends on how thick you like your mix). ✔1 tsp Honey. ✔1 tsp Vanilla extract. ✔1tsp baking powder. ✔Salt (optional). ✔Oil of your choice for cooking. We continued our date night and went to find some Cacio E Pepe! Which literally translates to cheese and pepper.
