⚖ WEIGHTLOSS TIP⚖ So, last wednesday I started my cut. I'm aiming for 1-2 lb a week loss and I'm really only focusing on calories and protein targets! ⚬⚬⚬ When it comes to weightloss, it really is as simple as burn more calories than you consume and if you're trying to lose weight and not tracking calories, you'll find youre weightloss is all over the place and you'll never really succeed. ⚬⚬⚬ For my clients I always advise they drop 15-20% off of their total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) and eat 0.75 grams of protein per pound of their bodyweight. This morning we talked about being accountable and possibly eating too much unknowingly. This is a very rudimentary example of how things can be underestimated quickly. That’s why eating “clean” or “healthy” means nothing if you eat too much. Do this a few times a day and you can blow your calories by a few hundred and even a thousand. We have seen it time and time again with our new clients. - It’s a simple fix though. - Check out @equalution explanation ・・・ Portion control: A means of controlling the amount of food you eat in order to reduce the total calories consumed. - Portion control is an effective means of creating a calorie deficit further assisting in putting you on route to your fat loss goals. Some food is more nutrient dense than others and the slightest visual reduction can actually mean a huge caloric reduction! Some tips from resident coach @mightymesina on how to enjoy pizza on a diet. ・・・ My new clients got worried they can’t have pizza. Not true at all. I have a photoshoot in 2 weeks and guess what I had for lunch: 🍕🍕😍. - Tag someone ⬇️ who loves Pizza 🍕 but thinks they can’t eat it on their diet. - Yes it’s true you can’t outrun a diet with too many calories. So here is how you can still enjoy pizza on a diet. - If you are properly tracking your food then ensure you have enough calories to fit pizza in. - I am flexible with my diet so I allocate 20% of my food to treats. Usually it’s beer but today it will be pizza. Can’t do both. Hey you have to make compromises. So if your calorie target is 2000 then you can have 400 calories worth of pizza. - Slices can range roughly between 200-400 calories. To get on the low end choose lesser ingredients and the ingredients you do choose should be low in calories. Whole wheat thin crust can also save you 50 calories per slice. - Avoid the gimmicks like sauces, oils or any other extra cheese. Those can spike up the calories quick. - Lastly enjoy! If you happen to go over your calories no big deal. One “bad” meal won’t kill your progress as long as you are consistent most of the time. - And if anyone says you can’t have pizza on your diet then it’s time to find a new diet or new friends. 🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽. Your life has become a cycle of dieting and regaining the weight. - Sound like you? - You’ve been misled. - But, don’t get me wrong, if you’re overweight, you have to learn to eat less - But you’ll also have to learn to eat more without eating way too much. - And if you wanna get lean, yeah, you gotta eat less. But that’s not all. - But I talk to so many people who are underweight or at a pretty healthy weight and they don’t seem to realize that you need more muscle to be the shape you envision. - And it ISNT gonna happen if all you ever do is aim to lose weight. - Most serious before and afters you see — the real ones, not the BS — involve 2-3 cycles in and out of fat loss, maintenance, and adding muscle. - You’ve gotta give your body, mind and metabolism a break from dieting without gaining the fat back. It’s called maintenance. And it’s usually a good 300-600 calories higher than what you set your diet at. But don’t just add 300-600 — go there steadily so your metabolism rises with it. - And if you want a little more muscle — keep slowly adding calories. - If your average weight is staying stable or going up about a half point every couple weeks, you’ve found a great spot to be. - And later on, with a heightened metabolism (and more muscle) you can get leaner and more calories then the last time. - That’s how it’s done. - Questions? Here’s the way I put it together for fat loss goals and muscle gain goals. . LIQUID💧 For fat loss the first difference is in the liquid. I use water because it’s zero calories. For muscle gain I use milk 🥛 but of course you could choose something else such as almond milk. . PROTEIN 🍤 Then we have the protein which is up to to you if you use a powder, cottage cheese or may Greek yogurt. . FRUIT 🍓Next up is the fruit. For fat loss I like berries because of the low carbs/calories and high fibre. For muscle gain I add a banana 🍌 to bump up the carbs/calories.. . VEGGIES 🥗 I like to add baby spinach to my shakes because greens. We could all do with eating more vegetables and leafy greens are so low in calories that Indont usually count them. . STARCH 🌾 For an extra bump in carbs I’ll add varying amounts of oatmeal depending on my goal. . FAT 🥜 Finally, we have the nuts which is my healthy fats. I like almonds and pecan nuts. 3 things I wish I knew when I first started training.... . 1️⃣Turn up - don’t always wait for the perfection time, or the best environment, just turn up and be consistent with what you can. Being consistent 80% of the time is better than being perfect 20% of the time. . 2️⃣99.9% of the time, calories will matter most when it comes Nutrition and fat loss. Low carb high fat, fasting, meal timing, supplements,processed v unprocess, none of these matter unless Calories are adhered to. . 3️⃣There’s training hard, and training hard. Weight training is a skill, yes. But a lot of people don’t see the progress they are looking for and it’s partly down to Training Intensity, I’ve been guilty of it in the past. Next time you are you are in the gym, ask yourself how hard do feel you are training and how does your log book reflect this? If you’re talking in your sets, completing 4 sets within a few minutes, and your last reps look like your first, you aren’t training hard enough. .
