While I’m here, wanted to talk about something... #endometriosis
. It kicked my ass this morning. For those that don’t know, Endometriosis occurs when tissue resembling the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus, attaching itself to other pelvic and abdominal organs. This can cause adhesion, scarring, cysts, and most of all, excruciating pain. I’ve been silently dealing with Endo for years, however, I was so unaware and didn’t get tested + diagnosed up until March of this year. Also, there is no cure, just laparoscopy to clean out the tissue which can come right back. Doctors don’t talk about this so I had no clue, I always thought I had normal cramps. Although these “cramps” caused severe pain to my pelvic, lower back, hips, and thighs.. it feels like contractions. A lot of pain and a lot of tears on the really bad days.
We tend to keep our struggles quiet and most importantly, we’re uneducated. 1 in 10 women suffer from Endo. Ladies, please do your research and if you have any related symptoms, seek the help that you need. Takes a lot to share something so personal but I’m glad to bring awareness🎗#iam1in10
