MEET THE ELECTRIC FUTURE OF OFF-ROADING #FACTS
FEB. 23, 2018. THE FUTURE is electric, there’s no denying it.
By the end of the next decade, at least 60 per cent of new cars and van should be electric, the Committee on Climate Change recently urged the government.
But what about motorbikes?
CAKE is a #Swedish
manufacturer with one aim: to bring off-roading on to the grid.
Specialising in the production of zero-emission off-roaders, #CAKE
has recently released its debut model – with an equally catchy name – for pre-order.
is constructed of CNC machined alloy and carbon fibre components and features a 15kW mid motor, powered by a 51.8 Volt, 50Ah battery.
It plain speak, this means it makes 31ft-lb of torque, can reach speeds of up to 50mph and has a range of 50 miles.
The company’s focus has been on ‘off-road performance and innovation’ and so the bike has been designed from scratch with lightweight, high quality components.
Specifically developed Öhlins suspension features front and rear, while aerospace grade aluminium has been used throughout. This, combined with the extensive use of carbon fibre means the #KALK
weighs less than 70kg.
Minimalist styling marks it out as completely different to other electric bikes on the market, including KTM’s Freeride E-XC. In fact, it looks more like a #mountain
bike than a #motorbike
The electric off-roader will be produced in a limited run of 50 units and is expected to be available in late 2018, with a not-so-minimal price tag of €14,000 – that’s around £12,300. #NINFONETWORK #VEHICLENINFO #FOODNINFO #STYLENINFO #BUZZFEED #HUFFPOSTGRAM #NYC #LA #BIKE #MOUNTAINBIKE #DIRTBIKE #TESLA #ELONMUSK #LONDON #DAILYMAIL #COLORADO #OFFROAD
