How long have you been Vegan?
About 8 months
What inspired you to stop eating meat?
My friend Robin came home from Portland where she ate vegetarian and talked about how she felt way better so I did some research and learned more about the food industry in America. There’s some scary facts out there about what we put in our bodies and the link to illness, as well as the effects of it to our planet.
Favorite bus snack?
If you could have any meal right now, what would it be?
Broccoli, Mushrooms, Spicy Peppers, Watermelon, and Pineapple 😋
Spirit animal: Plastic bag floating through the wind.
Hobbies and/or fun fact about you:
When I’m not banding I really enjoy hiking, traveling, cooking, and spending time with my boyfriend @hack_zudson
Would you rather cook or order out?
Cook for sure!
What is the biggest challenge (if any) of being a vegan on drum corps tour?
Trying to stay as vegan as possible without inconveniencing the cook staff!
Any advice for someone who is curious about trying out a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle?
Do some research on the food industry, the health and environmental effects, the animal and human abuse, as well as the link between diet, disease, and governmental profit.
My best advice would be to try cold-turkey (no pun intended) for about a week or two and see how you feel - it also opens up door to try new foods!
