As the weekend closes, I find myself mentally preparing for the week ahead. Sometimes in life we have many large challenges thrown at us all at once. This is one of those times for me.
For this reason, it is important to focus on the positive, take a step back and realize how far I've come in health, relationships, professionally, and in my leisure world. Things are looking good.
I am challenging myself to go from good to great and then from great to awesome. I am applying myself outside of the box, exploring outside of my comfort zone, and being my own cheerleader. I'm ready for the adventure of new places and people. Now is the time to try everything I've always wanted to try as my job search continues. My goal is to have positivity radiate from the pages of my applications and showcase confidence that I am the person for the job. I'm doing my research and applying myself. If there was anytime I needed to be positive it's now. Now is my chance to be my best and then continue to get better from there. I deserve the good things in life and I am allowing myself to go after them this week. And, thinking later in the future, after I snag the dream job, how will I continue to improve myself while remembering to allow myself to enjoy the fruits of my efforts? It is important to give yourself create for all your hard work, to accept that you tried hard and you made it before moving on. Allow yourself that joy.

Can we just take a second to talk about fast food ? I’ve been traveling for 10 hours and found myself in the Denver airport at dinner time. Here’s the thing with airport food. It’s kind of like hospital food. Not super healthy or delicious.
If you’ve been following be for a while you know I try to eat healthy 80% of the time. But since I’ve been traveling all week I didn’t have any food prepped with me and was left to the mercy of the airport food court.
So I had two options. Eat crap 💩 which I’ve been know to do.
Or make a better choice. I chose fresh vegetables without sauce, chicken and rice. And I only ate half the rice.
Wasn’t a home cooked meal but it was a better option than some others.
See it’s not about perfection 💯 % of the time. It’s about being the best you can be in the moment.

The most successful part about this last season wasn’t the medals I received, or turning pro... or even being awarded an oversized steak knife! (Though it was pretty cool, no doubt lol)
It was that I approached my prep in a way that complimented the lifestyle I want. .
It’s that I did virtually everything AGAINST the grain of traditional bodybuilding dogma - I fasted everyday until about 7pm, I ate about 2000 calories a day, and I ate ZERO carbs (except for veges of course - but if your counting them, you’re not training hard enough I reckon 👊🏻😤). I ate cheese and chocolate virtually every day as well 🤭
In the process, I discovered that this is actually a way I can eat and train FOREVER! I love it! I feel good, I can still train insane, and it helps to keep me lean (despite my best efforts to be a fat shit 😂).
Now don’t get me wrong - sure there points where I was suffering... AND, I also feel I could have been leaner (such is always the case I guess)... .
But the important thing is, I backed myself, and found a way that allows me to live the lifestyle on MY TERMS, and still bring home the bacon.
This is important to me - especially in this day and age where every second person you meet is a “competitive bodybuilder” but delegates nearly all responsibility to a coach of sorts...
And there’s some great coaches out there, and yeah, some do need that extra bit of guidance - hell I should swallow my pride and get one sometimes...
What I’m trying to say is... fall in love with the process of learning about your own body, and making your own mistakes and find out what works FOR YOU. There’s an entire industry out there based around you being confused AF so you’re willing to give up your hard earned 💰 for that coveted 6 pack you so long for! Sure, they may know more & better “methods” etc than you - but no one will know your body better than you... learn to listen to it.
And the truth of it is (for the most part), you just gotta get to work, train hard, watch what you eat, and most importantly, have fun doing it 😊👍🏻
Because it’s a game of consistency, and if you’re gonna be consistent, you may as well love it! 🕺
It’s a tricky balance and it’s not one I’m perfect at... but perfection isn’t the goal. .
My purpose is helping others, serving, teaching, working with others, celebrating, motivating, learning, growing... .
Do your best.
Be your best.
Take and make correction.
Results will come no matter what area of life it is.
Always know who you are and what your purpose is.
I wrote out a list of the different areas in my life today and now it’s time to pick 3️⃣ and highlight ☝🏼to focus on. Easier said than done because that means accepting that the other 7 might have to take a back seat for a while.

“I just want to get back in shape” says Nav. “I feel like I have been getting lazy and losing energy. I now come five days a week. I feel more energy and when I stop I just don’t feel right. Once you start going and getting to the rhythm it’s easier to continue. I have missed two days and it feels strange. It feels so much better now coming regularly and I’m getting toner. I come in the night time a lot because of my work and it definitely helps that the gym is open 24/7.”
Sooo, the plan was to do my birthday and midsummer with friends this weekend. Ended up the day before midsummer with a cold worse than I’ve had since winter; so I packed up with pain killers, tissues, nose spray and all the cozy fitted clothes I could wear and stayed at home instead. Happy birthday to me 🎈🙈 hoping to be back on my feet somewhat tomorrow. Let’s see if the sleep will be enough. Good night lovelies. 🛌🌃
“I’ve been a gymnast since I was a toddler and up until about 14 or 15” says Lexi. “On the other side my family runs the water polo business so I also played water polo growing up. So I was always extremely active. In water polo and gymnastics we had supplemental weight training and I always really enjoyed it. I wasn’t really taking it serious but when I graduated and wasn’t going to practises anymore and I wanted to keep active so I started doing some active weight training. It’s been engrained in me since I was tiny and I know how good I feel after if I exercise. I also know how bad I feel if I don’t. It keeps me mentally more alert. In fact if I am feeling more tired and lethargic and I go to the gym I actually end up feeling more energetic after.”
