Where I’m planning to spend a lot of my evenings this summer 🙌🏼
Along the Garden Wall. It still blows my mind that I live less than a 30 minute drive from GNP. People come from all over the world to see this place and I get to play here anytime I want, year-round. Talk about lucky. And believe me, I don’t take it for granted. Swipe ⬅️⬅️⬅️ for more.
They say "dress for the job you want, not the one you have". #MyMadness
story revolves around trying to fit in as many adventures as time allows, while balancing a new job and a new baby. Being able to get out and chase a few fish mid week requires you to maximize your time, aka don't even bother changing into fishing clothes, just slap your waders on over your work attire and get to fishing! Every cast counts, and this is #mymadness

Summer in Montana is alright I guess 💁🏼 📸: @billchopp
Sometimes plans don’t go as intended, this is a perfect example of the exact opposite. This night was perfect. We were blessed with the most beautiful Montana sunset in our hometown.
In my element.
I’m making a point to reintroduce myself every once in a while, in an attempt to shrink the inherent barrier that comes along with social media and to prompt you to do the same.
I’m Patrick. I live in Montana, but I’m from North Carolina. If you’ve spent any amount of time hanging around my Instagram, you probably know that wild animals and wild spaces are my favorite things. My favorite movie is Jurassic Park. I love being on the road, but I also really value being settled at home. I believe that if you lean in hard on the things you’re best at, there’s a real opportunity for you to be an impactful human being...and generally speaking, I think that’s a massive part of the formula for being happy.
Your turn. If we’ve done this before, I’d be stoked to continue where we left off. If we haven’t gotten to this point up until now, let’s change that.
Photo by the guy who I’m convinced is incapable of saying ‘no’ to an adventure, @xwesx.
It’s definitely rainy season in Bozeman... and I love it 😏⛈
No filter for this trip to Virginia City needed. We stayed in a restored 1860s miner's cabin, Logan made risotto, we drank a growler of beer and shared wine, and I got to practice my Portuguese with Logan's mom and aunt! It's been so much fun to show them around Montana and they've been game for all the adventures so far.
Minutes away from biking the entire going to the sun road. -
I’ve been planning this for a while with hopes to make a short film of the trek.
Wish me luck! #glaciernationalpark

Kintla Pk, Kinnerly Pk, and Agassiz Glacier of Glacier National Park. I had the privilege of camping in this basin on the glacier and climbing Kintla Peak the following morning. I have many trips that are pretty special to me and I never will forget this one.
Passing through Circle, MT.
The first of the fog that’s been shrouding our mountains for days now. #bringbackthesun
Spontaneous camping trip spent with lovely company and a million mosquitoes. Such a relaxing getaway spent soaking in this view, cooking burgers and listening to the rain hit our tent. Wouldn’t trade this life for anything!
This is Bella. She lives at the Montana Grizzly Encounter. She’s a grizzly bear, which means she’s very big, very strong and way smarter than most people realize.
As of now, if you want to see a grizzly in the wilds of the lower 48 states, you need to be in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho...or maybe Washington state, if you’re the luckiest person on the planet. That’s a fragment of their historic range, but grizzlies are still turning out to be a pretty remarkable story in terms of wildlife conservation.
If you come all the way up here, and don’t get to see one in the wild...Bella’s a pretty good secondary option and ambassador for her species. 🐻🐾
Excited to have my first guest blog post published on @equitrekking

"No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle"
Give me a double tap if you agree! Where is your favorite place to spend the day in the saddle?
Devastation from the fire that put a cloud of smoke over Montana. Incredible to be able to drive through here and see the forest fighting its way back.
It always seems impossible until you do it. 👤: @dabbymay

first ever Jam, Kamp Jam!
I spent the weekend teaching seminars on efficient eating, and primitive survival in between some sweet training sessions. To top it all off with a big cookout and camping with my best friends! #kampjam18
Always a good time when @rebeccaluehring
comes to visit. Caught some live reggae in missoula, cooked some fish on a fire under the milky way, and enjoyed some unpredictable weather. Thanks for everything becky!
Where we’re going, we don’t need leashes
If there is motion, there is the opportunity to channel your movements forward. The flow of water in nature has always made me feel wild and free. The sounds, the rainbows of refracted light shining through the mist, and the sheer power it can build to. Don’t underestimate nature, give it the respect she deserves. I tried to be in sync with these shots a little bit more by shooting a few longer exposures hand held. Whatchu think? 🤔 • Thanks @austinjmiller
for letting me tag along on the adventure!
Had the pleasure of driving through eastern MT today, it's been many years since I have done that. I really enjoyed the rolling hills and solitude.

Something I'm very curious about as a student of history is how we see the present. My parent's generation were kids when Watergate went down but were well aware and active during the Iran hostage crisis and the dissolution of the USSR, among other events, and I am so curious how people older than me feel about our current govt and all that is happening. I feel an enormous amount of grief, anger, frustration, and fear about our current times, more than I ever have. Feel free to comment with your thoughts, I love to hear what people are thinking and feeling about our now and our then.
This park has been on my bucket list for a long time. Thankful to have people in my life down to jump in a car, drive 14 hours, crush a beautiful hike, camp in the rain, and then wake up in the middle of the night to run a half marathon with a 6am start time in order to make this Glacier adventure truly epic. @katie_lundvall @reveley @mmccann5290 @bellacochrane
Stayed out late last night.
My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.
Happy Fathers Day to my biggest believer!
A father is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.
Happy Father’s Day to all those great dads out there, especially my own!
