An evening of quiet reading planned means time for some serious masking. I have neglected my mask stash and decided to go all out with triple masking. A word of caution: of the 3 masks, one is very gentle and fast-acting and the other two are focused on calming and hydration. Please do not attempt this with, say, a strongly exfoliating mask and a detoxing clay one. Your face might fall off. 🧖🏼♀️ To start the masking theme, I cleansed with @alliesofskin
new-ish Fresh Slate Brightening Cleanser + Mask. I absolutely adore this cleanser. It’s gentle, delicious and effective. Plus, it smells perfectly pink: a rose scent, but fresher and tarter than most roses. Delightful! 🧖🏼♀️ My first mask was the Flower Infused Fine Peel by @femmue
). It uses camellia flower powder for gentle exfoliation. Chic! It’s really more of a gentle exfoliating scrub than a mask, since you don’t sit in it, but rather rinse it off after a quick massage, but it left my skin feeling exquisitely clean and very bright. 🧖🏼♀️ The next mask was the limited edition Velvet Resin from @mosskincare.
I’m going to use this space to beg Moss to bring it into the permanent lineup. Simply put, it’s the most delicious thing I’ve ever put on my face. To me, it smells of toffee and caramel and to the Englishman of chocolate cheesecake. In any event, it took enormous effort not to lick my face. After I washed it off my skin felt so silky, that I thought it was still covered in product. The Englishman’s reaction? “Wow!” and “you look 12!” 🧖🏼♀️ The final mask was the Micronutrient Hydro-Mask from the @marieveronique_
collab. I had mixed feelings about the 3 serums that I tried from the line and was hoping the mask wouldn’t irritate my skin. I kept it on longer than was suggested because the baby demanded to be fed before I could rinse it off, but once I did, my skin was still soft, smooth and bright. So far so impressive. 🧖🏼♀️ I used @munskincare
’s Anarose toner to calm and tone, followed by @drbarbarasturm
’s Calming Serum and @infiorebeauty
’s Calm oil, for obvious reasons. Finally, the @pratimaskincare
Amla cream is rich and delicious and I adore it.
