I had the great pleasure to revisit @brew30sandiego
today for the first time since attending their Grand Opening celebration a few months back and it didn’t disappoint in the slightest. Not sure what I mean? Just SWIPE LEFT ◀️◀️◀️ and you’ll see (you’re welcome)
Located inside of the @grandhyattsd
hotel in Downtown San Diego, this little upscale watering hole serves up 30 LOCAL beers (get it… Brew30) that run the range in styles and flavors. Today I opted for something a little different in @lostabbey
Red Poppy Ale. I just had to - for those that aren’t as familiar with it, Red Poppy is a cherry-ridden, oak barrel-aged, Flanders style ale that only rears its head once a year. At 6.5% ABV, it packs a strong cherry-tart punch intertwined amongst big oaky barrel and dark malt. I won’t claim to be a Flanders expert, but this thing was damn good and I’m thankful to have snagged it before the keg went dry
A few sips of beer lured me into ordering up some grub. I’m glad I did. Smoked, baked chicken wings? Sure, why not? The star of the show, though, was the Brew30 Burger. I don’t know what else to say besides holy shit. 100% grass-fed beef, candied bacon, fried egg, caramelized onions, jalapenos, butter-leaf lettuce, and a house ‘In N Out’ style sauce all smashed into an unholy mess between a brioche bun. It was incredible
If you live in San Diego, or if you’re just stopping in for a visit, give this place a chance. It’s a nifty little spot that really has a little bit of everything. Special thanks, again, to Brew30 for having me out again. I’ll definitely be back soon! Cheers, all. Happy Friday!
