A different kind of transformation in honor of #flashbackfriday #sameshirt 4 years later. This isn’t about the pounds or inches lost 🙅🏻‍♀️but what I’ve GAINED. Confidence + BODY LOVE doesn’t always scream out at you in pictures but when you FEEL it, you know you’ve got it...I was miserable but nobody knew because I didn’t want them to know. Years ago if you would have told me that I’d be up early to workout, I would have laughed at you! This morning I had to be up before my regular workout time to get it in! I have had a super busy day. I knew I had 2 options today to workout. 1. Get up earlier 2. Workout when I get home for the night. I know how waiting all day works for me...it doesn’t!! Now that I’m home from my 12 hour day of 2 volunteer shifts and a Provincial hockey game, I’m exhausted and I’m so happy that I decided to get up earlier to get my workout in! If you want it bad enough, you will find a way!
I’m getting ready to go to bed! I posted in my stories earlier that I got it done. My kiddos had my phone. Apparently they had the puppy filter(the one That’s my least favorite)on and recorded me and posted it. The little ones!🤦🏼‍♀️ So, here is a still shot for you all! Yes, I am dog tired now, yes I about called @autumncalabrese a few choice names. I would have if the kids weren’t in the room!🤷‍♀️ Just kidding! I am so grateful for this program and her hard work! She’s an amazing and talented trainer. I feel like Elsa when I say this,”but for the first time in forever....I have abs! It has motivated me like no other to kick everything up a notch!!!! Oh my goodness have I told you lately how blessed I am that I said YES to this gift that was laid in my lap??? You see I tried everything, and thought I was doing everything right! There was no progress! I was still waking up hating the person looking back in the mirror. I was pissed off at everything and anything! I was so sick and tired of being tired, grouchy, and sad! I was so blessed, but was so clouded by my unhappiness with myself. Instead of being happy and enjoying the life God blessed me with... I was angry that I felt stuck. I poured so much into everyone else that I forgot about me. Sure I was great at throwing on a smile, and then come home to cry in the shower where my tears were not heard. After awhile something had to give......One Sunday in church I finally got on my knees and asked for His help. I finally realized I needed His help. Shortly after that @beachbody was all up in my face. I believe if you are going to ask for His help you better be ready to listen to what He hands your way! Day 61/80 ✅ I’m not a big fan of cardio so always kind of dread these workouts 😬 Today though, I felt so strong & if I do say so myself, kicked some Cardio Core butt 🙌🏻 It’s an awesome feeling when you accomplish something that you think you can’t or have doubts about. I remember back when I started my fitness/nutrition journey & having the doubt of being able to stick with it. But then as the days went by & I got into a routine with my workouts & stopped eating a lot of the junk I’d been eating, (especially at night while watching endless TV!) I began to feel better, wasn’t as irritable or tired & realized that making these healthy changes was helping in more ways than one. Belonging to the accountability groups have also been a big reason why I have stuck it out. Being surrounded by others striving to live their healthiest is not only inspiring but also so refreshing! Sure, we all have days where we struggle, but the support of the group always encourages us to do our best & to remind each other that it’s not about perfection, but about progress! We are all busy, but we cheer each other on to make that time for ourselves because it’s our responsibility to take care of us, not anybody else’s. That being said, I’m proud to say I’m doing just that & if I can, so can you 😊 If you need a bit of a push toward your journey I’d love to help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out! Squat jumps. Squat pulses. I think he had a theme in mind. Booty and legs. Hip thrusts. He put his backpack on my hips and I said no. Then he put books on my stomach and I looked at him like 🧐 The workout ended. Then my pilates instructor, friend and owner of @hardcandypilates tricked me into an advanced Pilates class with @kellypilates I’m hooked. That face I'm making shows you that this work out is working! Spread your arms to where they make perfect L shapes and start doing at least 20 push-ups. If you can't do 20, at least try! You've got to start somewhere! And you've got to do it daily or you'll start to slip back into your old routine! Get grinding!
Today we went to an amazing place called Canta da Lagoa, only accessible by boat. It’s not even on the map, hence the incorrect location 😳 We had lunch on the water while the kids played in the lake, then walked through the town up to a waterfall. . The little road we’re walking on is their main road through “town.” There are no cars. It’s like stepping back in time. After the waterfall, we stopped for popsicles and a little shopping at a little store. We missed the last boat back, but the locals are so kind, one offered to take us back. . On the way back, we learned from our boat driver that their annual running of the bull they do after Easter was thwarted when the police found out they got a bull in town and brought it back. We just happened to be pulling back into port at the same time the police came back with the bull. Chloe named him Sparkles 🐃✨ . I also learned that the island of Florianópolis was settled by the people of the Azores in Portugal, which happens to be where my mom’s family is from. Canta da Lagoa is inhabited by 90% Azore descendants. It was such an incredible connection to my people 💗 . Today was perfection. I feel like we finally celebrated our anniversary in the best way possible. Relaxed, adventuring, and having fun 💞
