My first week of #kevsmobility journey is posted above. It was a normal type week for a lot of clients. Travel early Wednesday🛫 with a conference until 8pm that night and then a conference from 8-7 Thursday and 8-5 Friday with travel back Saturday afternoon. ✈️ Even with travel there is no excuse to not get in your homework. I did my CARs everyday, during the conference I got A TON of CAR’s work in during the presentations. Only managed one Cardiac output day but will really get back on track this week. 👍🏽 No excuses to not put your health first no matter what your schedule is. Today was the last day of my recovery week. I needed a 2400 yd swim and 10 mile run. I also needed to pack my whole apartment as I’m moving in the next 10 days or so depending when I can sync up elevator reservations at my outgoing and incoming buildings. Moving in/out of big apartment buildings is always a pain in the ass. I spent most of the morning and early afternoon packing my apartment with the help of my amazing gf. Then we went to grab a quick bite/drink on the beach. I knew there would be no time to do both exercises today so I had to pick one. I picked the run because it’s harder to me and the discipline I’m the worst at. Surprisingly my gf who hates running said she wanted to come with me today to see how far she could go. She never runs distance but is a strong sprinter. I figured she’d go 1-2 miles before turning around (making her total run 2-4 miles). Instead she stayed with me the entire way! I was so impressed. It took me months to build up to 9 miles when I first started running and here she is just deciding to do 9 miles on a whim. (We ended up doing 9 instead of 10 because we got started super late and still needed to get some chores done when we got home. Probably should have run 7/8 because shaving one mile didn’t save that much time). Anyway, boy do I feel pathetic for any whining I’ve ever done about a run being too hard 😂😂. She powered through despite feeling pretty beat at around the 6 mile mark. The weather was hot tonight 80 def Plus 84% humidity but thank God for a light breeze at times that made it more bearable. I’ll give myself a check mark for the rune even tho it was short. Next week is the beginning of a three week building phase. Not to mention the mounds of work piling up on my desk. Sunday means sleeping in and doing a whole lot of nothin! I slept in way to late, had my coffee, went on a 2 mile walk with my babe and put away laundry. Other then I pretty much chilled the whole day. It’s also my first full day back on keto. I’m really hoping to stick to keto strictly for at least 6 weeks. Right now I just want to start feeling better and work off this bloatedness. Back to the grind tomorrow.
It’s Day 7 of #ketohabitsgoescarnivore and I just tested my glucose at 77 and ketones at 1.1 which calculates to a 3.89 GKI (Glucose Ketone Index) which is AWESOME given all the protein I’m scarfin’ down! If you’re not testing at least your ketones, I highly recommend you get the KetoMojo. Especially if you’ve hit a plateau and can’t figure out why. Wedding weekend numero dos of three in a row is complete! I ate a healthy breakfast and lunch Saturday and Sunday and indulged as mindfully as I planned to on Saturday and Sunday evenings. I cut way back on alcohol this weekend and that seemed to help a bit. Tonight was my friend’s 28th birthday and we had a “chilled cheese” themed party for him. I ended the week at -50sp, which I’m happy with. (I still have my app set to weight loss even though I’m hoping to maintain over these next few weeks.) I used to think I had to count calories in order to be fit. I thought the solution to my happiness was X amount of lbs. . “If I looked like HER, I’d be happy.” “If I lost my belly fat, I’d be happy.” “If I could be this many lbs, I’d be happy.” . That cycle is brutal and I’m so happy I’ve realize and learned that you don’t need to sacrifice treats, alcohol, or your favorite foods in order to be healthy! I don’t weigh food, I don’t count macros, I simply eat according to my portion controlled eating plan! Take control of your health, take control of your nutrition, you CAN develop a healthy relationship with food! . I also used to use summer as an excuse to not take care of myself! 🙅🏽‍♀️ Now I have this accountability, workouts accessible to me wherever I go, and meal plans that work well with traveling! Makes it super easy, even on vaca, to still take care of ME! 💁🏽‍♀️ . WILLPOWER . What differentiates us from animals? . According to Doctor Kelly McGonigal there are two things: . 1- Self Control: the ability to choose our actions in favor of an outcome . 2- Self Awareness: the ability to understand why we choose those actions . Willpower comes from being aware of what is going on in our minds.  If we can learn to reflect upon our decisions (self awareness)… to notice which power we are or aren’t using… we can strengthen our decision making (self control) to further move us towards our goals. . “Without self awareness, self control would be useless” 〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ She breaks down willpower into three separate powers: . 1- "I WILL" power . The ABILITY TO DO something even though it is difficult, doesn’t interest us or makes us feel uncomfortable. . Ex) Meal prep for the week for even though it’s easier to just buy lunch. . 2- "I WON'T" power . The ABILITY TO NOT do something even though “every cell in your body tells you that you want to." . Ex) Say no to that third beer. . 3-"I WANT" power . You HAVE THE ABILITY to keep your goals and values in mind so that when you are tempted or distracted by something some part of you will remember what your goals are. . I missed a really important event 18 months ago. B/c of my weight. I missed Olivia and Chris's engagement in Florida. I was too ashamed of not only the way I looked but also the way I felt because of the way I looked. It breaks my heart that I wasn't there for them and that special once in a lifetime moment. I couldn't imagine going to Florida and wearing shorts or swimsuit with all of my family there. Which made me feel even worse that I let myself get to that point. I started my health and fitness program in January because I wanted to not only look good, but I wanted to feel my best. I didn't want to be miserably walking down their wedding isle, feeling the way I did back then. I spent too long being so uncomfortable in my skin. And not wanting to do things, and live life because of that feeling. I never want to miss out on life again because of my weight and the issues that get you to that point. With my program, I not only lost the weight but I also addressed the reasons why I gained the weight. You can work out and change your nutrition all day long, but if you're not working on the inside too it's just a diet, a quick fix. And the weight will come back. And so will the feelings. What I love so much about my program is the lifestyle change it gave me. And my transformation started from the inside. I gained strength and confidence in myself I didn't know existed. I learned to put myself first and make time for my health and fitness. I learned to address issues and let them go. It's a big part of why I share my issues. I learned to commit to something and stick with it. I learned that hard work pays off. I learned to be happy and so comfortable with myself. Dinner! Made some spaghetti squash with homemade marinara sauce, topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. This was SO delicious, and I may or may not have filmed these recipes today! This came out to 260 calories, 43g carbs 😳, and 9g of protein. As I've mentioned, I'm not exactly following a 100% keto diet, but I'm trying to be more carb conscious. I'm at 61g of cabs for the day. Current shape ... up to 161 again cuz I’ve been eating like a 🤬 it’s all relative to what the goal is, but what happens when you reach that magic number or size? ➖ I mean I was really close to 150 but my body didn’t “look” how I thought it would, I had loose wrinkly skin on my abdomen from gaining 65lb in my pregnancy... my butt wasn’t as big or high 🤣 as all the insta butts I see errday ➖ so I had to sit back and let it all register that comparison is the thief of personal joy, and that every single persons body will have different results with working out... wherever you are in your journey is where you are supposed to be!
