Near and dear to my heart is a little Chinese restaurant in south Edmonton, by the name of Good Buddy. I've been coming here with my family since I've been a young child, and a lot of my favourite dishes are available in their large and expansive menu. I gotta say, they're one of my all time favourite restaurants - and are probably one of the best diner-style Cantonese cuisine places in town. I come here so often that the staff recognize me by face, and what I like to order 😂 .

Throw back Thursday this week is Pina Colada. One of our most popular flavours to date. Get it starting tomorrow until we run out. 🍍 🥥 🤤
Yumm! Supper tonight ❤️ although this was Ryan’s plate because I ate mine before I realized I hadn’t snapped it! 😅 mine had double the veggies and I couldn’t even take any rice I was so full with the chicken and shrimp! Second non-scale victory of the journey happened when I was on my way home from school today, I was so hungry because I forgot my breakfast and 2 weeks ago I would have just slipped through a fast food place to grab lunch or hit up the Tim’s at school. But I find myself wanting less and less processed and fatty foods. Every time I eat something I didn’t make with my own hands I feel like crap the entire next day. So excited I’m finally on this journey!! 🏋🏼♀️

Pizza lasagna! Delicious way to use leftovers: ) I had leftover frozen pizza enchilada filling, frozen homemade tomato sauce and lasagna noodles which I layered in a deep pie dish with marble and goat cheeses, served by cutting pizza shaped slices.
Slowly but surely, as new ingredients come, things change. Menu for June 20th, 2018
Simply outstanding features of POZOLE VERDE and NOPALES AL PASTOR (caramelized cactus and onion cooked in al pastor sauce with orange pineapple salsa) @trescarnales
I wasn’t planning on making anything exciting for dinner,
Just some leftovers supplemented with fresh produce from the South West Edmonton Farmers’ market.
I, however, ended up making something really delicious. I know, it’s a terrible problem but I must endure. ~
It was chicken from the Holden Colony that was leftover from making broth that I crisped up with honey & paprika, fresh tomatoes from S4 Greenhouses, grilled butternut squash that has been patiently waiting in my pantry to be cooked, arugula & pistachio pesto, radishes that I wrapped in aluminum foil with some salt, pepper, & oil & cooked on the grill until they became soft & slightly charred.
Both the arugula & the radishes were from Grey Arrow Farm. I’ve been following them for awhile & I was really excited to finally cook with their produce!
Just because I hate wasting anything & I wanted to enhance the overall pepperiness of the plate, I chopped up the greens from the radishes for the base of the plate. A little bit of red wine vinegar & the salad was complete. ~
In all seriousness, this was the perfect dinner on a hot night.
Maybe it’s my 30s, but I’m digging these @birkenstock
‘s, what can I say ...I love them !! ✖️✖️ #DERworld
