Dim Sum is very popular here in Hong Kong, and a favourite of mine!
It is small dishes of food so grab some friends and try some some different foods!
My favourite is the xiao long bao 😍 These are pork and soup dumpling, so be careful as you pick them up to not spilt the dumpling and spill the soup!

Today I gained a new appreciation for xiao long bao (aka soup dumplings). After what turned into pretty much a 24 hour process and the most daunting culinary experiment I've taken on, I am amazed how quickly they turn these babies out at restaurants! Thanks to my sous chefs @estherthefoodie

The tan tan noodles were reaaaaally spicy 🤭 I had a bowl and was sweating LOL. It was very peanuty and saucy would be good if a little less spicy but I think people whom like spicy would love this. Be sure to mix it well as all the sauce is at the bottom.
The peking duck 2 way comes in 2 dishes. First the typical skin with wrap. The skin was nice and crispy and not dry at all. Then you can either get the usual cabbage wrap with the meat or do a stir-fry with the meat. We opted for the stir fry as it sounded more unique.
Steamed egg was really good! Perfectly steamed and silky. But the black fungus was more brown 🤔 and tasted more like pickled cabbage. 🤷🏻♀️
As for the xlb saoooo good we got 2 orders 😂 piping hot with quite a bit of flavorful soup in it. Burned my tongue but it was worth it 🤣 the meat was pretty average most the flavoring came from the soup.
PS. 5️⃣ don't get the potato ball thing LOL. it's literally a deep fried potato with no flavor. #richmondeats
Xiaolongbao style dumplings which I made for the first time tonight. These are filled with a fairly inauthentic mix of garlic mustard, peas, ginger, fermented wild garlic and cooked fireweed because why not. With simple ginger broth, roast chicken thigh and skin, lime tree leaves. 💕

If you shao me yours, I’ll shao you mai. We’re totally DTF. 😂 Din Tai Fung that is! I got to try this place in Taiwan for the first time, and I was still super excited to try the USA version in LA. We weren’t disappointed! Everything was so good! Definitely not your average dim sum joint. These little cuties are the shrimp and pork steamed dumplings aka shao mai. SO GOOD! 🥟🥟🥟
Just the first few things to arrive at our table tonight. Some century eggs I helped myself to, a couple types of of xiao long bao, and some stinky tofu. The stinky tofu was challenging. Thanks for the recommendation @scottfmc

I swear I woke up dreaming of these 🥟Xiaolongbao dumplings and drooling may or may have not occurred🤤🤷🏼♀️ . These tasty buns were filled with pork and aspic, which when heated, results in that soup dumpling style. The thinnest of skin wrapping that little bundle of deliciousness, I could eat these every damn day. These chefs are true miracle workers with their impeccable folding and stuffing.
