Totally get this isn’t an amazing meal, but wanted to post for two reasons: 1) this is a good example of an easy and satisfying Paleo meal that included BBQ chicken (you can purchase a Paleo sauce from Tessamae’s or make your own or just decide, dangit, you don’t have to do your life 💯 % Paleo and use a store bought sauce—hello Sweet Baby Ray’s), @inagarten

Dump Ranch if you haven’t already! Seriously, this clean dairy free ranch will change your life. It’s so dang good! One more thing...corn isn’t Paleo for anyone wondering so please ignore it (but it was really good and grilled on the BBQ!). Today has been a day. I've felt like garbage since finishing my Whole30. I've been putting off the gym for days because my energy level has plummeted in the last month or so. I always feel bloated. And I'm having all sorts of other issues. After much introspection, I've realized that I should truly listen to my lactose intolerant self and stop with the dairy. (I'm a Wisconsinite, oh the irony). Anyway, I've decided to take on a more paleo-focused diet reminiscent of Whole30, because honestly I never felt better than that, and that's the only time my seemingly endless digestive issues were under control. I'll still focus on incorporating healthy fats into my diet and limited carbs, but my main focus will be on whole, non-processed foods. Motherhood is self-sacrificing and it never ends, I’m discovering because I called my Mom over to stay the night for the second time.
Vivs on her second round/still fighting hand foot & mouth (fun!). So workouts are pretty much non-existent currently.
We have gotten some advice to stay clear of dairy & wheat for her, so we are committing to a dairy free lifestyle again (like in all forms. Not just milk/cheese/ice cream).

Whole 30 Day 24: KING CRAB!
Feeling happy that I've eaten so many healthy vegetables, fruits, seafood, nuts and seeds in the last 3 weeks. Lucky to live in a part of the world where it can be really easy to eat healthy and nutritious. It's also really easy to eat super unhealthy with fast food, restaurants, packaged foods, parties and pizza (my fav) everywhere. Whole 30 is helping me think about my choices once again.

BBQ style. One thing I’ve learned is to be prepared to go to a function and have my own food. We went over to a friends today so I brought items with me. I had shredded chicken and I heated it up with @thenewprimal
BBQ sauce which tastes so good! I cooked up a potato in the microwave and added ghee to it and then grabbed some veggie toppings for the burgers they had. I will definitely be buying the @thenewprimal

On the table tonight, my five ingredient chicken starring my rosemary from my veggie garden!! 👩🏼🌾🌿🌱 You’ll need: 1 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tbsp salt, 1 tbsp pepper, 4 sprigs of fresh rosemary (bonus if its homegrown) and 2 lbs of chicken. Heat a skillet pan to high heat with ingredients in pan, add 2 tbsp olive oil. Heading out of town tonight on biz, so this weekend I gathered up some of my fav paleo snacks to take in my carry on. I always like to have non-shitty options on hand in case my flight gets delayed (already did twice, actually) or I end up “starving” and “stranded” for whatever reason, and whoever I’m with turns to fast food.
I’d seriously rather go on a month-long hunger strike than eat McDonalds, Burger King, Subway, etc, ever again, for the rest of my life. Thank the lawdy for @Larabar

Aside from packaged goodies, roasted pumpkin seeds and raisins are among my fav things to nibble on when hunger strikes. A little bit sweet, a little bit savory, I discovered this delicious combo early on in my paleo adventure. And it never got old.

And hopefully this post will help you do exactly that!
👩🏻 First and foremost, I believe everyone should track calorie intake and their macros for at least a period of time (even if it’s just for 3 weeks, or as long as 3 years).
🧠 What you’ll learn about nutrition from tracking calories and macros is invaluable! You’ll learn the nutrient values of different foods, you’ll learn how to intuitively make good food choices and you’ll be able to control how your body looks and feels, even after tracking macros has stopped.
However, before we get there, we need to determine your personal calorie and macronutrient targets. Let’s do that now!
👉🏼 Step 1: Determine Maintenance
This is the number of calories you need to maintain bodyweight. You can determine it by multiplying bodyweight (lbs) by 14-15.
👉🏼 Step 2: Set Deficit/Surplus Calories
If your goal is fat loss, a good place to start is by subtracting 500 from Step 1.

My little babes recently started crawling, and I swear it takes me 10x longer to get anything done since I’m chasing her around the house all day 😂...this dish right here took me about 3 hours to cook 😳 which means usually the beautiful meals I prepare I get to enjoy when it’s nice and cold 😂😂 that’s ok tho, because she’s worth it! So....lean ground turkey in an all whole ingredient marinara sauce from Trader Joe’s, Greek salad with red wine vinegar, and beautifully roasted rainbow carrots (garlic, dried chives, Himalayan salt, and pepper for spices). Mama’s, fill that cup so you can pour out! Self care is so important, but it’s often last on the list as we fall into bed at the end of a busy week. After our trip to Utah, I kept feeling like I was in a fog.. doing all the fun things can apparently make you tired. I finally took a hot detox bath with Roman Chamomile, Sacred Mountain & Release.. and actually made time to take care of myself after the kids went to bed. It made the biggest difference! So now I plan to start each week with a little self care and a glass of wine 🛁🍷. So now to choose.. Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir? 🤔 What are you doing for yourself to prepare for the week ahead?
Not sad about this al fresco dining situation! Made a dilly caper sauce for Michael’s perfectly grilled salmon. Rough recipe below!
1 clove garlic
1/2 of a shallot
2 packed ups of arugula
2-3 tablespoons fresh dill
1/4 cup parsley
1 tablespoon capers
6 tablespoons olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
Pinch of salt
Blend everything in a mini food processor and adjust seasoning as needed! .

Stopped at the local supermarket to pick up a few things to supplement the meats I have thawing in the fridge! AND I REMEMBERED MY REUSABLE PRODUCE BAGS ✨ Picked up potatoes for the week, avocados, tomatoes for a few days, cucumbers, and cherries!

Whole30 Dinner Day 21! Creamy Chicken Broccoli Casserole. So far I’ve found that the words “creamy” and “Whole30” do not go together 🙅🏻♀️ I’m going to be honest, I had to gag the last few bites of this one down 🤢 It basically tasted like chicken, broccoli, and onions, and my poor husband who is not a fan of onions gagged down the first few bites so as not to hurt my feelings 😂😂 Another day down though!! 👏🏻
Breakfast—eggs, bacon, cucumbers with yum yum sauce
