WOW... what an awesome opportunity to learn and grow as a human being yesterday. I have walked away from the #behaviourmasterclass
bursting with knowledge and excitement to share with my tribe and little people the wonderful approach of #phoenixcups
opened my eyes with her knowledge and humour to simply trust children. “Trust children. Nothing could be more simple - or more difficult. Difficult because to trust children, we first learn to trust ourselves, when most of us were taught as children that WE COULD NOT BE TRUSTED.” John Holt (1983: xiii)
Louise shared so many truth bombs, things like “children learn to make good choices by making choices, not by following directives”. It will be hard as a parent and an educator to push through the ingrained authoritarian style of discipline to the guidance approach, but I am feeling empowered with knowledge to make positive differences in my little people’s lives. I was already choosing a vast amount of guidance over authoritarian, but I will make efforts to choose guidance always.
I added the #phoenixcupskit
to my resources and ADORE the quality and artwork. Can’t wait to create my cup plans for all, including myself.
I have already started using #cuplanguage
, hehehe my tribe will be understanding their own needs soon enough.
I wonder Sandi and Tara, what cup am I? ;) curious what you think.... Amongst to crazy of my industry, I am so proud and honoured to be involved in the children in my life. They make me a better person... thank you to the care givers for choosing me xx
Finally, a massive thank you to the team at @phoenixsupport.
Tara and Bronwyn have supported me so much this year in my personal journey to be better educator. Unknowingly, they have helped me become a better person xx
