I L O V E D the Anne of Green Gables series when I was growing up. I’ve since re-read the first book several times and it’ll always be my favorite. No other story or characters can replace those of Avonlea in my little bookworm heart, so I decided to read them all again over the next year.
Of course, reading the books as an adult is a different experience. I just finished Anne of Avonlea and I’m blown away by L.M. Montgomery. I think, if she were alive today, she’d be on Oprah’s Supersoul Sunday discussing Anne and what readers can learn from her. Everything from being still and taking time to reflect on our lives, to appreciating nature and all the little pleasures, to treasuring true friendships and choosing love over fear.
Making the most of my two hour commute to class, listened to @oprah
there and back tonight. HIGHLY recommend! So interesting and calming too 🤯👌🧠🌈🚗
The end is the beginning.|
I heard this saying when I was in Kenya. Mwisho ni mwanzo; a gorgeous woman with scars on her face whispered this to me. Her home is a refugee camp, and her life unimaginable to me. And yet when asked where she finds hope, this was her answer. She smiled with such genuine warmth. She has epilepsy and the scars on her face are from dropping to the ground in seizure onto the little fire that keeps her small home warm. I got this tattooed under my heart when I returned home to remind me of her forever, and her unwavering strength despite her circumstances. To know that no matter how dark things can seem, there is always light that can be found. In moments that I need strength, I find that I pull from this notion that endings are only beginnings. And that hope is possible and needed, no matter our current condition.
Telling the truth. Trusting God. Learning new languages. Saying “I love you”. Saying “I’m sorry”. Kissing. Writing. Public speaking. Making love. Praying. Eating well. Exercising. Honoring ourselves first. Saying “yes”. Saying “no”. Asking for help. Being partnered. Being single. This list goes on & on.....

In western faith traditions, our references to God are almost exclusively male; especially within organized religion. Call God She and you’re labelled a heretic. •
I believe that God is neither male nor female and yet, we are made in that likeness- God’s image. That means God embodies both male and female- He/She is Both. •
Why is it then, that all language and acknowledgement of God being feminine, is lost? •
I’m exploring this for myself- researching faith movements and early church history. •
My desire is to understand: why in the west is God divided and presented as exclusively He. •
I want to see for myself - and find myself - in the greater faith story. • //:: Have you wrestled with this? Found yourself longing to see and experience your feminine in The Divine? •
I’m so grateful were not alone and for companion guides in the form of mentors, health professionals, friends and authors. I didn’t think it possible there’d be so many, especially around me and within my close circles- including those of us, inside the church walls.

Monday Motivation: Wise words to remember from an amazing poet. Overcoming the fear allows us to be more compassionate to ourselves, and of others. 🙌🏼💯🔥
I enjoyed an excellent #reflectionrun
yesterday. 😇 I thought about my day and the week that past. I expressed gratitude for all of the fun and the lessons. Do you ever dedicate runs to just total reflection?
The start of the week can be stressful and hectic. Take a few moments today to reflect and find peace, tranquility and relaxation. Wishing everyone a peaceful Monday from DW Healing Arts! http://dwhealingarts.com/
Make more room in your life for things that make you feel good. If you continue to waste golden energy on people, places and things that serve no purpose RIGHT NOW (even if they used to), how do you expect to know true peace and freedom, sis? I’m just sayin ... 💕🌱 📷: @cleowade
MONDAY MOTIVATION: “Doing your best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.” - @oprah
Success is the result of small, deliberate, consistent actions rather than a few big steps forward. Every good choice you make adds up and creates progress. Get crackin’! 👊 #mondaymood #riseandgrind #nikkivegan
We’ve all been there, I promise. Moments when we’re questioning who we are in the world and what we’re meant to contribute. What’s important to remember, in all experiences but especially this one, is that you’re most definitely not alone.
As people who want to leave a meaningful impact on the world, we’re prone to overanalyzing our purpose constantly. This is not inherently a bad thing! It just means you’re a thoughtful, intentional human. But when that overanalysis results in an existential crisis, that’s when it becomes less than helpful.
Here’s what you can do to snap yourself out of it: 1. Write it down. Get it out of your head. Our negative thoughts are much more powerful when we don’t shine light on them. 2. Move your body. Exercise, go for a walk, stretch, whatever it looks like for you, move your body. 3. Call someone. Tell them how you’re feeling. Saying it out loud will also take away its power.
And most importantly, be kind to yourself. You’re doing the best you can.

Yesterday's "Reverence for Life" service featured the Blessing of the Beasts, a service that is over 26 years old and takes time to reflect and give thanks for all non-human life. We had 4 and 2 legged friends present -- as well as finned friends too! 📸by FSC member Monica Stegeman (@monica.little.shrines

When you focus on your own personal journey, uniqueness, and power, you can activate the anointing on “your” life. ✨
Didn’t realize just how truly exhausted I was until I spent the afternoon up here yesterday. It’s amazing what an afternoon in a beautiful outdoor space can do to reenergize my spirit but it makes sense, since I LOVVVEEE outdoor living. Reminds me that I’m Cali girl through & through. Didn’t love this riad (stayed at a new place last night) but their rooftop deck?? #Goals
