(Sound on😂) It’s true! You can learn a lot about your pet’s overall health by becoming a poop sleuth. People are often uncomfortable with poop, but you can keep your fur kids healthier if you know what constitutes a healthy BM and unhealthy BMs. I created a handy illustrated poop chart 💩available on my new Red & Howling Community under the "Pet Safety & Wellness section" (Link in Bio👆🏽). #dogpoop #petsafety #petwellness #poop #poopsleuth #redandhowling #redandhowlingcommunity

... 🐶🐱 PET SAFETY!! 🐱🐶 Pet safety is more than just bubble wrapping your dog. Here are a few tips to help keep your furry family members safe and prepared! 🔸 NEVER leave your pet behind. Plan in advance for a safe place or shelter that will allow pets should you be required to evacuate. 🔸 Keep a photo of you and your pet, as well as all current vaccination records in their kit. 🔸 Have your pet microchipped! Even in the best case scenario your pet can be misplaced, microchipping helps the people that locate your pet locate YOU! 🔸 Prepare an emergency kit. Leashes, carriers, toys, food and water for a minimum of three days. 🔸 Take a pet CPR and first aid class, and then put together a first aid kit to go along with your pets emergency supplies. 🔸 Be sensitive to your pets needs. Their behavior will change after a crisis, aggression or self-protection are common. Provide a safe quiet space, even if it is not in your own home, where your pet can de-stress. Animals need comforting. Kind words, hugs, and pets go a long way. 😉🐱🐶❤️ #SOSproducts #petsafety #safety #pugs #encinitas #emergencypreparedness #leucadia #preparednesspuppy #pup #olivenhain #cardiffbythesea #pugsofinstagram #puppiesofinstagram #dogsofinstagram
EXCELLENT WARNING while we go through this heat wave: A garden hose exposed to direct sunlight during summer can heat the water inside the hose (not flowing) to 130-140 degrees which can cause burns especially to children & animals. Let the water flow a few minutes to cool before spraying on people or animals.

The most common gesture that dogs make to communicate is a head turn - which is when a dog looks from a human to an object to show they are interested in it. Unsurprisingly, most of the time the head turn was employed, it was in reference to their food bowl! #PeppyPaws #DogLove

Did you know dogs DO have sweat glands? They are located in the paws! It helps them cool off their fur-less footies. Hot pavement is STILL a serious threat, so if you can’t keep your own hand on the pavement for five seconds without burning, its TOO hot for your pet! Stay on the grass or go inside! AND BRING PORTABLE WATER. #petsafety #fivesecondrule #beattheheat #chroniclesofadogwalker

Summer is definitely here. Here is a summer pet safety tip - •Feel free to trim longer hair on your dog, but never shave your dog: The layers of dogs’ coats protect them from overheating and sunburn. Brushing cats more often than usual can prevent problems caused by excessive heat. And be sure that any sunscreen or insect repellent product you use on your pets is labeled specifically for use on animals.

Please don't leave pets alone in your car, even for a few minutes! Rolling down the windows has little effect on the temperature inside a car, as it can reach 125 degrees in just 20 minutes on a 93-degree day. Call 9-1-1 if you see a pet alone in a parked car on a hot day!
