Out with my girls! Took them to the park and now at Pizza 🍕 Hut. Being prepared is always important. I am eating mashed bananas with granola, sliced almonds, flaxseeds, and almond milk!

& that I cannot wait to sculpt my body into what I want... One fitness account I follow, talked about that exact thing the other day; how she thought some people were just lucky to have fit bodies, but the truth is we have the power to shape our bodies into what we want (to an extent) through fitness & nutrition!!
So I’m currently looking into gyms since I don’t have any equipment other than free weights at my home... & I’m ready to start my weightlifting journey for life!!!
P.S. It’s a really crazy awesome amazing feeling to feel or start to feel comfortable in your own body, when you spent a lifetime hating it. Do this for you!! You’ll will not regret it. 👊🏻💪🏻👍🏼

This is about how shopping trips go every time 😂 how quickly we can go from making silly faces to having a meltdown over “sauce”. That’s what he calls applesauce. Haha. When I start making out my meal plan for the week, I always plug in my “staple foods” first. Like my pancakes, protein shake that I drink with my coffee, and whatever kind of bar I’m having for a snack that week. Once all of that stuff is in, I usually pick a meat and a vegetable (I don’t usually count seasonings, I just try not to go overboard with sauces). Then I look under the nutrition tab on @myfitnesspal
and see what I need to add or take away. If I need more carbs I may add rice or potatoes..if I need more fats I might add a little cheese or sour cream. I just work the puzzle until it’s close to my numbers I’m shooting for and then I head to the grocery store. Although some weeks I feel like I spend a lot on protein sources, I shudder to think how much I used to spend eating take out for every meal. 😖
Hey y’all! 👋🏽 let me properly introduce myself. My name is Ruth O’Hara (nope, I’m not a lil old white woman 😂 like my name would suggest). I’m 34 years young (Asian genes help with those wrinkles 😆). My “health” journey started 5 years ago. I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome...meaning I get cysts (cell growth that could lead to cancer, on my ovaries). This was a bummer considering I was just a newly wed who dreamed of having cute island leprechaun (Indonesia & Irish) babies 🍀. I was also told it would be incredibly difficult, challenging, & dangerous to ever get pregnant. I was 215 pounds at the time (& I’m vertically challenged at only 5 foot 2). So i made it my mission to lose weight & get healthy & prove the doctor’s wrong (I’m a stubborn & relentless woman when I finally know what I want). So I started participating in 5ks. I could barely walk 1 mile, but I signed up for a 5k every month! I did my first sprint triathlon at 200 lbs (with bronchitis). Still, it wasn’t enough. My doctor told me I was “too fat” to ever get pregnant. So...I gave him my middle finger & joined a challenge Bootcamp program (won’t name names). I was determined. The program was extremely challenging & extremely restrictive. I lived & breathed working out & “eating right”. As a result, I lost 40 lbs in 12 weeks! But I wasn’t at all healthy. I was losing my hair, always irritable & bitchy (cause I was hangry constantly). I became obsessive with how much I weigh, how much I ate (to the point where I wouldn’t eat just so I can make weight), & was always tired (I chugged pre-workout like it was water). My doctor told me to stop what I was doing or else I would drop dead from a heart attack. So I stopped. Gained weight (bc that’s what happens when you eat “real food”). But I got healthier. So much so that I got pregnant in the spring of 2017 (something that was “impossible”). In my joy, I forgot all about my cysts. I had 3 at the time. What no one knew (not even my doctor) was that my embryo attached to the side of my massive cyst (8 cm...my ovary was only about 4 cm). I suffered a miscarriage due to it. Continued in comments 👇🏽
With in 1 month this happened 🙋🏿♀️ I have not changed my diet really 😫 but I will make a plan and try to execute it.. #weighin
Happy Sunday FitFam! So I’ve adding yoga 🧘🏻♀️ to end of my HIIT cardio workout days and I must admit it I’ve notice quicker recovery time, better mobility and flexibility when I preforming my workouts and I’m not as sore, so give it a try! #sundayvibes
Before I talk about my excitement and goal setting for this next challenge, I’d like to talk about last night. Did I go to a party and celebrate st. Patty’s day? Yes! Did I eat some things that are not a part of the fit girls guide? A little bit. But while I was the DD and everyone wanted whataburger at 3:00am, did I indulge? In a fit girl way! I got a salad 🥗 🙀 😎💪
Would I have done that a month ago? Heck no! Things have really been changing and it wasn’t as hard as I thought. You can still live and achieve your goals!!!
Now back to today! Although I slept in I’m back in the gym and I did something I’ve been really scared of. The stair master! I stayed on for 5 mins and it was a beast but did I die? NO! Haha! My goal for this challenge is to continue to tame this beast and hopefully complete 30 mins straight. .
About to head to the store to get all my fixings for the #fitkinibodychallenge
that I’m starting this week. I know I’ll be just as successful as my #28dayjumpstart
because I’ve got #progressnotperfection
on my side and I’m #determined
