After a quick visit to the Hoover Dam this afternoon, we had a few minutes to enjoy a paddle on lake Mead during a beautiful sunset. Only one more day in the Vegas area, and we're trying to soak in all that we can! 🚣🏻♀️🐾 ~Sam
I might as well post some more pics from our last because we'll have plenty more to share when we return.
Waiting for the stars to come out.. It's so cold..
I did it again, thought I bought organic vegetables, but they were just regular donuts 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩
Solitude found along the Puna Coast Trail.
Hiked 20+ miles solo over the coarse of three days in one of the most remote and starkly beautiful places on the Big Island. The last day was my heavy mile day with 11+miles ahead of me, at mile 8 I got stung by a centipede. It sucked. I thought I was done for. My foot swelled and the pain was excruciating. By stroke of luck as I hobbled to the shelter to boil water and administer first aid, a solo sea kayaker saw the glint of metal from my stove (his sos beacon had failed and he needed to hike out to get a new one). He hiked up from the ocean to ask for a map, saw my swollen foot, and offered ibuprofen. I took three and immediately felt relief from the sting. We swapped stories and I prepared for the 8 mile death march over miles of black lava rock with howling winds, no drinking water, and no where to hide from the hot rays of the sun. Nevertheless, through all this I had one of the best backpacking trips ever. This section of Hawaii, tucked into a remote corner of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, is absolutely insane and the beauty is unmatched anywhere in the world, completely unique from anywhere I've ever been, and totally epic. Don't forget to watch your step, and leave only footprints.
I’m not an early bird or a night owl, I’m some sort of permanently exhausted pigeon! 🦅🦉😴

Thinking of a caption is harder than taking the picture 🤔
Footprint in the earth, suspended in time.
Anyone that knows me is well aware that my two favorite animals are sharks and dinosaurs. So visiting a state park in Texas that has dinosaur footprints in a river feels a smidge like Christmas Day. It had never occurred to me that I could see exactly where a dinosaur had walked. 😍 So damn cool. P.S. @its_crystaaaaal
this makes me miss adventuring with you!
