Are You Ticking All The Boxes? - TRAINING INTENSITY; are you training hard enough when you’re in the gym to cause a positive adaptation in the body e.g muscle growth or fat loss? - RECOVERY; are you optimising your recovery out of the gym? Are you sleeping enough to allow a positive adaptation to occur in the body e.g muscle growth or fat loss? - - Are you managing stress levels within the body,and minimising inflammation within the gut to allow proper digestion to allow a positive adaptation to take place in the body e.g muscle growth or fat loss? - NUTRITION; are you hitting your macro targets consistently to be in line with your goals? Are you making sure you’re in a calorie deficit if you want to lose fat? Are you making sure you’re in a calorie surplus if you want to gain weight and add muscle? - If you’re not “Ticking All The Boxes” or answering yes to all of the questions above, don’t be disappointed by your lack of progress or results. - Are you honestly doing everything you can to reach your goal? - Half hearted training intensity won’t cut it. Neglecting your recovery and stress management will come back to bite you. A duração da queda da performance e a magnitude da sintomatologia são importantes fatores que devem ser considerados na avaliação clínica para correto diagnóstico da SOT. Normalmente, a SOT cursa com queda de performance com duração superior a 2 meses, apresentando alterações do estado de humor e, geralmente, alterações referentes ao sistema nervoso autônomo, podendo ser de predomínio parassimpático, mais frequentes em atividades aeróbias, ou simpático, mais frequentes em atividades de força e potência. Inclusive, embora uma hipótese não exclua outra, dentro dos possíveis mecanismos citados no infográfico, a alteração do sistema nervoso autônomo é a hipótese mais aceita. . Quanto à nutrição, o consumo adequado de carboidratos pode não só previnir, como acelerar a recuperação na SOT. Embora exista a hipótese imunológica associada à depleção da glutamina, os estudos de boa qualidade não demostraram eficácia da suplementação de glutamina SOT. A suplementação com BCAA também não demostrou melhoras significativas em relação às SOT. .
