Day 154 - Rest Day
I had a pretty great day with my dad today. We went for breakfast then just hung out until dinner at my grandparents tonight.
The crappy part about just getting home from the ferry at 9:30 is the fact that I wasn’t able to get any meal prep done for tomorrow. Which means I’m gonna throw a bunch of veggies into a container and pick up a rotisserie chicken for lunch haha.
Got a whole new workout plan for tomorrow and I can’t wait to try it out, and then probably cry afterwords because of how brutal it is.
Gotta work hard to see results though.

My mindset going into this week. The scale isn't going down as much as I'd like anymore.. So, time to be more strict and consistent. My problem is my diet. It needs some improving. Which I'm glad I finally noticed it. And I'm going to try to do a bit more cardio than usual, just to get out and do something outside of the usual. Today was a good day tho :) & happy father's day, Dads!

Who’s prepared for their week?!
I suck at prioritizing things in my head, fun fact, so when I know I have a busy day ahead of me it makes it a lot easier to write out all the things I can think of that I want to accomplish. Once I have a list I can go through and decide what is actually important and what isn’t. That way when I start the day I can look for the colors I need to do first rather than trying to sort out what’s most important in the moment! •

Tomorrow’s lunch will be a tortilla free pollo asado burrito with homemade salsa, guac, and pico.
Meal prepping is also up to an individual. I personally only make food for about two days at a time.
When I develop meal plans for people, they are often concerned with how frequently I ask them to eat. It seems impossible! If you were to individually prepare a meal for yourself every 2-3 hours, you would spend most of your day cooking or eating. No one has time for that! Still, I recommended eating balanced, protein rich meals often throughout the day because it keeps your body in a fat burning, muscle building state. I know that’s what I want. 💪🏻 •
This is why meal prep works so well for me. Each Saturday I look at my upcoming week and write down how many meals need to be prepared. If I’ll be home, I’ll prep meals. If I’ll be out with a friend, I plan ahead of time to make a mindful and healthy food choice. I am not so attached to meal prep that I bring Tupperware with me to family events or birthday parties. 🎉•
Even if I am eating out, meal prep still helps me because I know not to eat too much. After all, I’ve got a prepped meal waiting for me in 3 hours that I don’t want to go to waste! That’s helped keep me on track and stopped me from giving in to the American mentality that we need to stuff our bodies to the brim every time we sit down to eat 🍕 🤮. Anybody else used to think a meal wasn’t a “success” unless you’re totally stuffed? 😷 •

Chicken liver, million dollar dinner. I remember the first time in my life that I ever tasted liver. My daddy made me try it. Afterwards I almost was about to puke but he told me that if I did puke he would feed it back to me. So I sucked it up and swallowed down the disgusting taste of liver. I find it deeply ironic that today I actually really enjoy the taste of liver whether it is chicken liver or lamb liver or any other kind of liver. And I am very glad that I am able to make it for myself, although I may seek input from others. Indeed in the words of prophet Muhammad, “the best food is the food that is made by your own hand.” That does not mean that I do not love the food of others. But I am grateful that I love the food of my own hand. Eid Mubarak.
