In with the new, out with the old 🗽👋🏻🏖
Hi y’all did you miss me? I sure missed you.
Read all about it below!
New Year, New Me?
Actually...New Year, New City.
I'm sure most of you saw this coming from a mile away, but here it is: I've decided to take the plunge and begin a new chapter of my life in Los Angeles working at Hawke Media as a Social Media/Influencer Manager! I just finished my first week and finally found some time to post.
Having lived in what some might say is the greatest city in the world for the past five years, there was a moment during the week before I left when it actually hit me that I only had a number of days left in NYC. And with that, the notion that I would soon will be a new resident of a different, far off, more chill state of California in about two weeks. Starting over as another city transplant, learning the do's and dont's, figuring out the in's and out's, and knowing what's what and who's who, essentially going back to square one. I kept trying to visualize what my new life would be like — What will it feel like to not be in my current apartment?
-Will I miss having my go-to spots around the corner?
-Will I miss walking around the city or taking the subway?
-Will I miss seeing the seasons change?
-Am I going to buy a Prius? (No)
-Will I ever get used to LA traffic?
-Should I keep renting or start paying a mortgage?
-How long will it take to feel settled down?
-How long will it take to feel like LA is my new home rather than just a place to visit friends?
All these questions kept me up at night, but at the end of the day I accepted that I couldn’t answer them..because I simply didn’t know, no one does. It’s the fear of the unknown that left me restless. But, it's also that same unknown that drove me forward, full of excitement and hope.
So now that I’m finally here I hope y’all can join me in this new adventure in LA. I promise you, aren’t gonna want to miss what I got in store for this year✌🏻
