There are a bunch of reasons why your body weight may fluctuate up 2-3 pounds in a single day... ⠀ Maybe you ate later than usual? ⏰ ⠀ Maybe you ate more salt, and you're retaining a bit of water? 💦 ⠀ Maybe you haven’t taken a big ol' dump yet? 💩 ⠀ Seriously, there are HUNDREDS of things that could lead to higher-than-expected daily weigh-ins… ⠀ But one thing I can promise you is that it's NOT fat gain ❌ ⠀ Just think about it 🤔... ⠀ If you could actually gain or lose 2-3 pounds of fat in a day, you could theoretically lose 60-90 pounds in a single month 🗓! ⠀ Obviously, that’s not the way things work. Losing fat takes time… a LONG time at that. ⠀ Changes in body fat don’t happen day to day. Heck, they barely happen week to week! ⠀ Bottom Line ✅: Occasionally, your weight is going to fluctuate. Sometimes by as much as 2-3 pounds… and that’s okay and totes normal 👌 ⠀ 99.99% of that weight is from water, food, body stuffz, etc... NOT body fat. ⠀ Chill, relax, trust the system, and continue focusing on the things YOU can control — your consistency & effort— and your weight WILL go down over time 📉🙂👍

Which means there are a LOT of people/companies making a lot of money by convincing people to buy weight loss products that they don’t need. - Please note that my comments here are limited to *weight loss*. Some products may have benefits outside this scope. - 👉🏼Ginger, green tea, and honey (all Fit Tea ingredients) do have some health benefits - just not significant ones as they relate to fat loss. The fat-burning benefits of green tea are only noted in humans in very high doses and then, are largely dependent on not consuming caffeine habitually. - 👉🏼Other Fit Tea ingredients don’t hold much water, either, with regards to fat loss. Drinking tea isn’t *bad* for you, so if you like the taste, go for it. Especially if it’s going to replace a high-calorie drink like soda. But that’s the extent of its usefulness. Also, you can buy lots of kinds of tea for pretty cheap at the grocery store instead of through an IG "influencer." 💥WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS FOR FAT LOSS?💥 ⠀⠀ There are many misconceptions about matters when it comes to losing fat, so I would like to help you differentiate things that truly matter from those that don’t. 👇 ⠀⠀ WHAT YOU SHOULD FOCUS ON:  The most important thing is total calorie intake. Calories in vs calories out is what ultimately makes you lose or gain weight, so if you want to lose fat, you just have to eat less calories than your body burns throughout the day. 🍕 ⠀⠀ Most of you probably don’t want to just lose weight, but also gain muscle. You’ll achieve this by eating enough protein and lifting heavy weights, regardless the gender. Yes, it is simple as that. Caloric deficit, focusing on protein and strength training are the key factors to weight loss. Furthermore make sure to get enough sleep, eat enough water, and be consistent and patient. 🍏 ⠀⠀ On the other hand, there are things many people focus on that don’t truly matter, such as meal timing or picking the best supplement. Sure, none of the things on the right are bad and all of them will help you in a way, but none of this will help you if you are still in caloric surplus, even if eating “clean”. 🍦 ⠀⠀ There is no best diet or the best supplement. There is no the best exercise or the best time to eat. Cardio also shouldn’t be your main focus for the look you want, and doing tons of ab workouts isn’t actually the best way to get lean stomach and abs. I’ve already covered most of those topics in my previous post, so I won’t go in detail in this post. 🍭 ⠀⠀ To sum up; focus on tracking your nutrition and protein, and lifting heavy 3-6 times a week. You are your environment. - Who you interact with on a daily basis will massively influence your behaviours, whether you are conscious of it or not. - Depending on your personality, you will have varying degrees of independent drive towards a specific goal. - Some people will be easily influenced by their family and friends, while others won't be as much. - However, even if you have a degree of independent initiative towards a specific goal, you can still be sidetracked, fairly easily, if you are not in a supportive environment. - I would probably say that well over 60% of the people I take for nutrition consultations, have problems with their dietary choices during the weekend. - While you can chalk some of this down to a change in routine, a lot of it comes down to other people influencing their behaviours. - You want to lose weight. You are aware that you need to eat at a certain calorie level throughout the week to achieve that weight loss. - "Pints tonight lad?" - "Na I'm trying to stay off the drink" - "Fuck that hi" - "Ok I'll be in the pub for 9 then" - 5 pints ,6 double vodka red bulls and a 12 inch pepperoni later, and not only will you have a disgusting hangover, you've also totally undone the graft that you put in during the week. - Can you lose weight and have a few drinks? Absolutely. But that's not the point of this post. - If you associate mainly with people who don't give a fuck about their health, or having any type of physique goals, then that mentality will be emulated by you, whether you like it or not. - Take control of your environment. It may just be the one thing that's holding you back. - For me, my environment pushes me forward. Because I'm involved with people who's goals and aspirations align with my own. - You are the sum of the 5 people you associate most with. - #reachyourpotential

Forgive me. I'm still learning and adapting. I'm unlearning all the bullshit I was conditioned to believe. My body is not my punching bag anymore, and I'm starting to slowly grow with it instead of hurting it. The diet industry tells us that it's okay to go days without eating, it tells us to go against our biology. The food industry does the same thing and creates a McDonald's within every km. Tell me this isn't a recipe for disaster? Societal standards tells us there's an ideal we should look like, conditioning us to believe we'll never be good enough: that pressure has lead me and many others to be hospitalized and psychoanalyzed beyond too many times. I'm an open book (clearly), with good intentions. I've spoken to way too many girls repeating the same patterns I have and it breaks my heart. The reality of it all is, no matter what shape, weight, state, or look that you have: you must smoother yourself in love for it right now. Not tomorrow or in a year from now when you've lost 30 lbs, because I can promise you, it will not happen then. The power of now, inner work, inner growth, re-conditioning your beliefs is powerful and possible because we possess such a powerful organ known as the human brain! 🕉️💜🌱 During the incoming weeks, a whole foods plant based challenge will be coming out without any crazy restrictions to guide you into your health journey. Simple Meal Prep In Under 45 Minutes... # I totally understand when you’re spinning 6 different plates between a busy career, a family, social life and enjoying yourself and hitting the gym that you’re short on time. # A lot of the times when time your short time, nutrition and being prepared takes a backseat to a lot of other things, but it doesn’t have to. # You might commonly think I don’t have two hours to prepare all my meals for the week, truth be told neither do I so this is exactly what I do on a weekly basis to make sure I nail the basics. # As you can see this isn’t overly fancy, but it will help you to stay consistent and at the end of the day the biggest driver of your success with nutrition is consistency. # Get a bag of frozen mixed vegetables (my favorite is normandy blend) and toss them in a pan with a few tbsp of oil or non stick spray while preheating the oven to 450 degrees. Toss the pan in the oven for 30-45 minutes. # Take potatoes or sweet potatoes and poke them with a fork and toss them whole in the microwave for 8-10 minutes. Use steamer bags of rice or put a cup of quinoa or rice in the rice cooker. # Buy pre made protein sources that you can use on the go like rotisserie chicken, hard boiled eggs, canned tuna, pre cooked chicken sausage or cottage cheese. # This is not a definitive list but a good place to start, and something you can use starting today for grocery shopping and meal prep! Let's face it... Feeling hungry on any diet is inevitable. _ It's like having to touch water when you shower. No really good way around it. _ What's even worse is being hungry when there's nothing you can do about it. _ Take for instance at night... you just finished up your last meal for the day which oh-so-perfectly fulfilled the last few macros you had left #win , but too much of no surprise, you're still hungry. _ No, not hungry, you're RAVENOUS. So ravenous that all you can do is sit staring into space contemplating your purpose on this planet and praying your overstimulated, but under recovered nervous system allows your hypothalamus to downregulate just enough for your eyes to close only wake up to... #yay more macros. _ But what if this time you did something different? What if you took a stand against Late-Night 'Hunger' once and for all and decided to fight it? Fight it to a point where you know you would win (and still "lose" fat)... _ What would you do? Here are my four tips: _ [1] BE A PLANNER: ✍️ _ Want to eat more at night and still lose fat? Start planning and do so accordingly... _ [2] MAKE SOME MOVES 🕺 _ Easiest change to make to eat more meals at night? _ Put more spacing (i.e. 5-6 hours) between the meals you have earlier in the day allowing you to not only have MORE meals to eat at night but less time between them as well. Once you have that set... _ [3] BUMP THESE UP: ☝️ _ Increase the volume/size of evening meals by prioritizing veggies and protein in earlier meals while shifting more carbs and fats to later meals. _ -Another tip: Take advantage of the hunger-busting benefit of protein by increasing your daily amount to just above normal dieting recommendations _ BUT remember to ⬇️ your carbs and/or fats to stay in your calorie deficit. Calories are key! 🔑 _ Lastly... _ [4] TONE THESE DOWN: 👇 _ (a) Foods that taste GOOD - Why? Research shows we're more likely to overeat foods that we find super tasty (google "Food Reward Hypothesis"). _ (b) Calorie dense carbs - Trade out some grains for veggies.
