A Sentimental Story About Bok Choy: During my internship at Walt Disney World, right after college, I was lucky enough to make friends with some international students from China. Cissy was a close friend there, and after a few months, she invited me and my roommate to her apartment where she and other students from China taught us how to cook their favorite dishes from home. Pork dumplings, eggs tossed with tomato... and bok choy. I remember I had never had it before, and they told me that the variety of bok choy we had in our supermarket was too big. The smaller ones were the best.
Nearly a decade later, I still remember their hospitality, patience, and how right they were about bok choy. I never buy the big ones. If I can't find the smaller ones, I don't buy any!
