15 weeks 💕 Nugget is 4 inches long and has started swallowing amniotic fluid this week 😍 I have yet to get the alleged second trimester energy boost and could still go for a nap at any given moment 😴 My diet still isn’t great thanks to the heat + exhaustion giving me zero motivation to cook but the food aversions are going away (we can officially eat guac again 🙌🏻). I have an OB appointment this week and then we’re starting the countdown to my anatomy scan at 19 weeks 😍💖 #ashleygrowsanugget
CHICKPEA CURRY! This is sooo incredibly good, defs one of those things that taste better Vegan version much prefer chickpeas to chicken. Sorry the plating isnt very good its leftovers!
SPICED CAULIFLOWER - Yum! Such a versatile vegetable to make a white sauce, mash, steam or in this case roasted! I chop a head of cauliflower into small pieces and roast, then keep in the fridge to add to my salads for the week 😋Recipe below 👇🏻. Why is cauliflower good for you? It contains Vitamin C, folate, Vitamin K, B Vitamins and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, iron and sodium 🙌🏻
2 cups cauliflower florets, chopped small
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp 100% minced garlic
Salt & pepper .
Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. .
Place all ingredients into a bowl and toss until combined.
An entire meal of meatloaf, and it’s only: 400 cals, 30g carbs, and 10g of sugar. Add in 30g of protein and you’ve got yourself a darn good alternative to what a ‘normal’ meal of meatloaf would look like 😜
This comforting meal is oven roasted with a blend of beef, minced veggies, cage-free eggs, and herbs + spices with a sweet & tangy tomato sauce. It comes with a green peas and roasted pearl onions. What you see on the side is a buttery mash of creamy cauliflower-based mash…that’s how the carbs stay at a low level 👌

These bars are a great high protein low carb snack minus the junk and artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners may not impact us directly, but the harm our gut microbiome (bugs living in our guts). They can cause bloating and IBS, inflammation and immune responses, as well as impacts on DNA leading to potential carcinogenic changes in gene expressions. Choose natural sugars from fruit or stevia in cooking.

FOOD RESTRICTION 🙅🏼. I often hear people say that they cannot eat something because it's "bad"✖️. Or they ate such "bad" foods over the weekend 🍟🍔. I have such an issue with labelling foods, so much so that I get cranky when I hear these remarks. "But why Geo? Surely 🍕🍩 🌯🌭 are bad foods? You can't say they are healthy!"
You are correct 🤓. These are not foods that are fantastic fuel sources. However☝🏻 if you fill up 80% of your food intake with fresh and wholesome fruit, veggies, heart healthy fats and lean protein, go and really enjoy the other 20% ! Chow down on that quality burger, or classic wood fire pizza or even a peanut butter loaded smoothie bowl - the large size 😎. I promise you one burger on the weekend will not undo the hard work 😓 and nutritious foods 🌱you fuel yourself with all week long. Keep yourself on point Monday to Friday and give yourself a little wiggle room to move over the weekends. 💁🏼🍦

On my burger: spring mix, Claussen pickles, pineapple, tomato, and Stubbs Smokey mesquite bbq sauce.
On my salad: spring mix, raspberries, blueberries, feta, and Trader Joe’s champagne pear vinaigrette.
On my corn: nothing. It was fantastic as is.

This is our second round of Whole 30 and it’s much harder this time. For no real reason. We’re eating the same things, I’m feeling the same results. But it’s infinitely harder to stick with it. We’ve made it to day 8 though so here’s a plate of chicken fries. #whole30

1Tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tsp balsalmic vinegar
2 tsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 medium cucumber, halved lengthwise and then sliced🥒
1/2 c cherry tomatoes, halved🍅
1Tbsp chopped red onion
1Tbsp fresh italian parsley
1Tbsp chopped fresh basil leaves 🌿
Dash Himalayan salt, pepper
-Combine fist 4 ingredients and set aside.
-Combine remaining ingredients
-Drizzle dressing over cucumber mixture and toss gently.

This disease has taught me a great deal about my body....and what I still have to learn. As much as I love food, I care more about being healthy, living longer and not feeling sick than eating the foods that could possibly be silent killers.
