Heres a year 2 year physique transformation. I didnt really want to post this because it awkward. Ill get over it but for now. Yeesh. In the left photo I had just turned 15 and was a freshmen in highschool. I had been doing caleasthenics in my room for a few months, fasting 24hours almost daily, and ate fastfood everyday. I some how thought i was fat or something and believed i could make muscle by fasting all the time and eating whatever i wanted. Lmao what?! I was truly cluesless about nutrition, trainning and everything along those lines. I was not healthy to say the least. (I believe i was around 140lbs bodyweight.) In the middle picture my bulk ended and was 3 or so weeks into my cut. I was 180lbs in this pictute i think? My heaviest ever was 190lbs. So uncessary but i didnt know how to bulk the correct way at the time. I dont want anyone new to make the same mistake of putting on too much fat for no reason. Fat cells dont disapear when you diet down, they simply shrink. Its very important you dont multiply them by a crazy amount. It will be easier to gain fat that way when you decide to bulk again In the far right picture my junior year has ended (im now a senior) and summer has just started. Im 16 years old 3 months until 17, and  have a good year and half of a solid training and decent nutrition under my belt. Ive gone from barely being able to bench 95lbs back in grade 9 to hitting 225lbs for a 1rm (Ive posted it). (Im currently 168lbs bodyweight) Tbh i think i could have gotten wayy leaner but i got sick a few times and kinda drew the line there. Plus i didnt have food at my house at one point which made it really hard to correctly diet... 💥BRO SPLIT VS. REAL SPLIT💥 THE BRO SPLIT So you're hitting chest every Monday no matter what? Crushing those biceps every workout? Doing 25 reps with 10lb dumbbells over and over again? - This is your straight ticket to NO GAINS. If you are only training each muscle group once a week, and never challenging yourself you're going to make very little progress. - So instead you should run a REAL SPLIT, either full body, upper body or push/pull/legs variant to maximize the gains. Follow the principles outlined below to start making REAL progress! - REAL SPLIT - FULL BODY OR UPPER/LOWER You need to be running either a full body split 3 days/week or an upper/lower split 4-5 days/week. This allows you to hit each muscle group 2-3 times/week which is optimal for muscle growth. - PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD In order to build muscle and add size you need to be PROGRESSIVELY OVERLOADING your lifts. A simple way is to aim to hit weekly PR's. This means your adding weight to the bar and reps to your key exercises. This forces your muscles to continuously adapt and grow as you continue to challenge them. - COMPOUND LIFTS If you want to build as much MUSCLE as possible you want to train the main compound movements, like squat, deadlift, bench, rows, overhead press, and pull ups. These compound movements stimulate way more muscle fibers than isolation movements like a bicep curl. These compounds will build more muscle and you can add in those isolation movements to round out your workouts to get more overall volume. - CONSISTENT PROGRESS If you apply the principles above you are well on your way to making some awesome gains. Always aiming to improve in the gym, challenging yourself, and STAYING CONSISTENT is of the utmost importance. I could give you the BEST PROGRAM EVER, but if you couldn't stick to it you would make little to no progress. - So make sure you ENJOY your workouts, so you can stay consistent long term! This isn’t the prettiest picture by any means. But that’s ok. I’m not one to shy away from posting “off season” or “improvement season” (as I like to say) pictures. It’s necessary to take pictures of yourself in order to see what areas are lagging and what needs improvement. Currently fluctuating around 170-173lbs. Diet honestly hasn’t been the best lately, but starting tomorrow I’ll begin to track macros and work on progressing on a weekly basis. Four different vegan meals and the nutrition info for each one! All are highly nutritious, rich in protein, and also easy to prepare! 🔽 Meal #1 : - 7oz romaine lettuce - 1 medium tomato - 4 kalamata olives - homemade hummus (4 oz chickpeas, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1/2 tbsp grapeseed oil, 2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes, dash of Himalayan sea salt & pepper, plus some water to blend smooth) - 8 oz tofu, cooked until crispy (no oil needed) - 2 tbsp just ranch by Hampton Creek 🔽 Meal #2 : - 5 oz whole wheat pasta - 8 oz marinara sauce - 4 oz salt-free tomato sauce - 1.25 oz minced tvp - 2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes - 4.5 oz broccoli - salt & pepper FYI: this is so easy to make. All you have to do is put the dry tvp in the tomato sauce and let it sit on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until tvp is soft. 🔽 Meal #3 : - 3 oz brown rice, 1 tbsp lemon juice - 8 oz spinach - salt & pepper - homemade hummus (8 oz chickpeas, 2 tsp grapeseed oil, 4 kalamata olives, 2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes, salt & pepper, plus some water to blend smooth) 🔽 Meal #4 : - 2 small Ezekiel tortillas, toasted - tofu “egg” spread (8 oz tofu, 3 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes, 1.5 tbsp just mayo by Hampton Creek, tbsp lemon juice, salt & pepper) - 11 oz strawberries - walnuts, approximately 6 halves 🔹🔹🔹 That’s it! These are some of my go-to healthy meals. As you can see I’m not afraid of calories. There’s nothing to be afraid of there. We need calories to survive, to gain muscle, to become better versions of ourselves. It’s all about the nutritional value behind those calories. I cannot recommend the Cronometer app enough. Start tracking your nutrition and you’ll get the hang of it sooner than you think! Adopting a healthier lifestyle doesn’t have to be hard.
