What are your intentions for the week? Inspired by @shutterbean , intentions are a bit more than a to do list, a bit less than a wish list, they are actions I want to accomplish in order to better connect with my physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Today was a serious accomplishment for me! Today I hiked the tallest peak in LA county, Mt. Baldy! It's the longest day hike I've been on and was 8 hours with a distance totaling around 12.5-13 miles ( my fitbit died on me 😩) it was absolutely beautiful and was definitely worth it! The views were amazing!

I've been playing with the asymmetry of my body for years, and especially now that one leg is healing from surgery and the other from overuse. The goal is not to bring symmetrical strength and flexibility, but more to notice the difference from side to side without telling myself the story of why things are all caddywampus. ✨ Last week in PT, I learned how to walk stairs. It's a painful journey, gunshots of pain in my new-to-me ACL and an overeager and exhausted IT band in my dominant leg. It's easy to fall into frustration over things I used to be able to do easily and often that are either no longer accessible at all or not without pain and fatigue. ✨ My favorite beach is down 12 flights of stairs, and for weeks now I've walked the bluffs above it and admired it from afar. Yesterday, I decided, was the day I would go for a visit. ✨ It was slow going, one step at a time, and required a mindfulness not to rush, not to let my dominant leg do all the work, to allow the pain to be a source of healing rather than a excuse to escape sensation. ✨ I made it, of course, one step at a time. Every day is full of little and big milestones like that, new abilities, new strengths. GETTING THE #BOXING FIRE THIS MORNING πŸ”₯πŸ₯ŠπŸ”₯ Had an exceptionally hard class this morning with #SBFITT @sbfitt @_ray_kate @_kc_john πŸ™ŒπŸ½ Worked until I was dead πŸ’€ and then kept going! Love how to class has evolved to include bag work, one on one combo work and shadowboxing...not to mention abs of death πŸ™ŒπŸ½ Definitely want to start doing this class more consistently πŸ’• A whole new level of cardio and shoulder/abs work.
