Put your hood up, sling weights, and mind your business👌🏽
Bad side 👿 vs. good side 😇.
Everyone has their favorite side when taking pictures 📸 (myself included) and it's made me realize that I need to work on my muscular imbalances. Having one side more dominant than the other is completely normal, however, you never want one side to be at a complete disadvantage to the other. ⬆️⬇️ So I will be putting an emphasis on unilateral training as I go into my next growing phase to bring up my weak points.
Unilateral movements are done one side at a time 💪🏽 as opposed to bilateral movements 🏋🏻♀️ which are done both sides together. For example, a barbell curl is a bilateral exercise, whereas single arm dumbbell curls are unilateral. For more extreme cases of muscular imbalances you may want to throw an extra rep or two on the weaker side to get added volume in or use a different weight for each side.
Fun fact, I write left handed 👋 but always played sports right handed, and I'm completely right side dominant.
A huge part of living healthy revolves around what you put in your body. A saying that a good friend once told me is "this months nutrition is next months body." What you choose to eat, or not eat will influence everything from your health, to your mood, and even your state of mind. I wanted to post a few things that I've made, I'm not emril or bobby flat but I like to think I can get down in the kitchen lol. A few of the dishes posted include:
Sautéed garlic, herb, veggie, kale and spinach pasta(pasta high in protein and low in carbs made from chickpeas - you won't notice the difference trust me) with seared lime, rosemary, and red pepper salmon ( I love salmon, high in protein)
Habanero, pink bean and herb brown rice, half assed jerk chicken (sorry to my fellow Jamaicans out here in ashamed it doesn't look anything like the real deal but it's tasty lol) and some mixed veggies
Brussels sprouts veggies and protein pasta in a garlic Parmesan sauce with lightly breaded sazon and lemon chicken.
More brown rice(I love rice lol) with some scallion, smoked turkey and habanero black beans, with lightly breaded and seared chipotle chicken.
I also wanted to post an example of eating out healthy because allot of people think it's hard to buy all ready prepared food and not go to a fast food spot which is not true. I bought some veggies in brown sauce with white rice, and went to a bagel place and had them grill me up some chicken cutlets. I then went to a grocery store to get some jalapeños because I love spicy stuff.
Excessively eating out doesn't have to be White Castle or Taco Bell or Wendy's( all I fucking love) you just have to have some discipline. You really are what yo eat so choose good stuff!! #nutrition #cleaneating #portionsareoffbutwhatever #healthyfood #fitfood #foodie #cheflife #mealprep #eat #eatgood #eatgoodfeelgood #fitnesslifestyle #fitlife #stayfit #fitfam #fitspo #fit #gains #swole #gymmemes #gymhumor #guyswholift #girlswholift #workout #gym #athletic #fitgirl #fitguys #fitchicks #fitness
