Oslo City Hall is one of the famous buildings in Oslo because of its characteristic architecture, artworks and the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
The city hall holds not only city coucil and city administration but also art studios and galleries. There are a number of wall painting depicting the history of Norway and modern styled portraits.
The construction began in 1931 but it was paused by the invasion of German Nazi during World War II. The official inauguration occured in 1950.
