Thank you Metro Home & Entertaining Magazine @metrohomeandentertaining
for featuring us in your latest Issue (14.1)! Below is an excerpt from "Silverlens Galleries Opens New Space" by Feliciano Rodriguez III, with photographs by Daniel Soriano @photosbydane
The premier gallery in the local art world meets the growing need 'to footprint into the future.' The new Silverlens Galleries possesses a delightfully hidden quality, as if it is a secret thing, filled with treasures waiting to be discovered. The space is built in a former warehouse behind a low-rise building. Says Silverlens co-founder Rachel Rillo, “I like that the space is all the way deep in the back of a warehouse…it is a sweet surprise or a secret escape.” The gallery is contained in a two-story space with offices, a library, viewing rooms, and an art repository on the second floor.
This travel and discovery motif continues in many parts of the gallery. The multilevel nature of the gallery gives the space a feeling of movement to it. The space is constantly in motion with its myriad staircases and semi hidden rooms and blind corners. The gallery urges you to explore it, to be curious and to walk around its many facets.
