Now that President Trump is in office we MUST encircle his leadership with our prayers! (Romans 13:1-2) I know that there are many out there whose eyes are over glazed with gratification. Their hope is that Mr. Trump will rectify whatever ills they've been adversely affected by, that the Supreme Court will overthrow Roe v Wade, that his leadership will bring a greater sense of safety to terrorism with strong border controls, and that he will revitalize communities that once thrived economically through industries are now obsolete.
Although, we are all Americans and most us patriotically so, we are not a monolith. That's what our Constitution protects. In fact many didn't vote for him, he won by winning more Electoral votes. Nevertheless, there remains a very foreboding cloud for many of us that have found his campaign and it's often salacious, insensitive remarks to have left a bruise on the soul of countless people who fear his leadership will place them and others in peril. His obtrusive approach and vague descriptions of "how" he will do "what" he will do leave many troubled. If those values that protect the elderly, minorities, women and the environment itself are compromised, it will be incumbent upon all of us to resist it with all legal means. Yet, we can only hope that once confronted with the gravity of this auspicious assignment, he will evolve into an equitable asset to our country that doesn't compromise the concerns so prevalent around us. All believers cannot become so entrenched in their political persuasions that they forsake their faith and call to intercede. The best thing that we can do is pray for President Trump to lead effectively, implement policies fairly, make compassion a part of his thought process and protect and provide for ALL Americans a way of life that will help stabilize unrest, provide care to the infirmed, address our criminal justice systems’ atrocities and foster development in both rural and urban America! Though, he may or may not have been your choice, he will direct the affairs of the nation with a cabinet of people that have never faced the daunting task that the next four years will bring. God
